Trax USA Corp is seeking a skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer to lead the optimization and automation of Java-based application development and deployment across cloud, hosted, and on-premises environments. This role will manage CI/CD pipelines, containerization with Docker, infrastructure as code, and proactive monitoring solutions, while ensuring security, scalability, and performance. The ideal candidate will collaborate across development, sales, and support teams, contribute to infrastructure design and cloud-native technology adoption, and support pre-sales activities such as demos and technical proposals - all with a strong focus on reliability, documentation, and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Streamlining Java-Based Applications: You will be responsible for optimizing and automating our Java-based application development processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Branch Management: Your role involves coordinating and overseeing the concurrent development of multiple branches across various product lines, ensuring seamless collaboration among development teams.
  • Containerization Expertise: You will play a pivotal role in creating and maintaining Docker images for our Java applications, ensuring consistency and scalability in containerized environments.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Management: As the DevOps Engineer, you will be the driving force behind our CI/CD pipelines, automating testing, deployment, and monitoring of software releases.
  • Deployment to Multiple Environments: You will be responsible for deploying and configuring applications across a spectrum of environments, including hosted servers, cloud platforms, and customer on-premises installations, all while maintaining stringent security and performance standards.
  • Proactive Monitoring and Issue Resolution: Implement and oversee monitoring solutions to detect and proactively address issues. Collaborate closely with the development team to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Security Assurance: Ensuring the security of our CI/CD pipeline, containerized applications, and deployment environments will be a top priority. You will need to implement and enforce best practices for data protection.
  • Comprehensive Documentation: Maintaining clear and comprehensive documentation of processes, configurations, and deployment procedures will be integral to your role.
  • Automation of Customer Implementations: You will be responsible for automating existing hosted customer implementations, including the collection of metrics to monitor system performance and automate issue remediation to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Deploying scalable, highly available systems on AWS.
  • Contributing towards Infrastructure design and selecting the correct AWS service base on requirements.
  • Design, build and deploy Infrastructure as a Code (IaC)
  • Help develop solutions and enforce DevOps patterns and practices.
  • Maintain process documentation, workflow, and architectural diagrams.
  • Support development engineers on their implementations.
  • Development of medium to large complex customers technology platform or architectures.
  • Maintain active relationships with internal and/or external stakeholders to develop business requirements.
  • Analyses and classifies complex change request and identifies and documents possible systems enhancements.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of industry trends, our developed products and infrastructure.
  • Work with development team to develop and define application scope and objectives and prepare functional and/or technical specifications.
  • Analyses and evaluates detailed business and technical requirements.
  • Self-starter/self-motivated, capable of staying on track and pursuing solutions without supervision; flexible do-whatever-it-takes solution-oriented approach.
  • Support the Sales Team on preparing Demos, Proof of Concepts, or pre-prod environments to incentivize customer to sign agreements.
  • Support the sales team with quotes and proposals and reviewing customer technical requirements in a timely basis due to often tight deadlines.
  • Understand the product and analytics and drive requirements that consider stakeholders needs.
  • Provides on-call support and monitors the system and identifies system deficiencies.
  • Strong track record of service delivery using ITIL processes.
  • Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Determined to deliver outcomes and able to overcome obstacles to resolve service management incidents.
  • Perform post in-incident reviews of all major incidents and determining actions items required to avoid similar issues/minimize downtime for future incidents.
  • Provides Level 2/3 production support respectively.
  • Perform capacity analysis of applications hosted in AWS.
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure to identify areas of improvement, reliability, cost savings, etc....
  • Disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Contribute to the development of cloud standards, best practices, and organizational capability.
  • Research and drive adoption of cloud-native technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Proven experience in DevOps engineering, with a strong focus on automation and CI/CD pipeline management.
  • Proficiency in Java-based application environments and development workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and container orchestration tools.
  • Expertise in deploying and managing applications across AWS, hosted servers, and on-premises environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools and proactive issue resolution strategies.
  • Solid understanding of security best practices in CI/CD, containerization, and cloud deployments.
  • Experience supporting sales teams with demos, proof of concepts, and technical proposals.
  • Ability to analyze complex business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
  • Excellent documentation skills for processes, configurations, and architectural diagrams.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience with ITIL processes and providing Level 2/3 production support.
  • Capacity planning and performance analysis experience in cloud environments.
