About the Role

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and operating the continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, infrastructure automation, and platform tooling that power Subway’s technology organization. This role plays a critical part in enabling engineering teams to ship software faster, more reliably, and with greater confidence—while maintaining the security, stability, and scalability of shared delivery infrastructure.

The DevOps Engineer brings a strong automationfirst mindset, handson proficiency with modern CI/CD tooling, infrastructureascode, and cloud platforms, and is expected to actively leverage AIpowered tools and intelligent automation to accelerate delivery pipelines, reduce toil, and improve system observability across the software delivery lifecycle.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that enable rapid, reliable, and repeatable software delivery across engineering teams
  • Automate build, test, packaging, and deployment workflows to minimize manual effort and human error
  • Integrate AIassisted code quality, security scanning, and test coverage tools into CI/CD pipelines
  • Monitor pipeline health and performance; identify and resolve bottlenecks impacting delivery velocity
  • Develop and maintain infrastructureascode (IaC) solutions using Terraform to provision and manage cloud and hybrid environments
  • Automate infrastructure lifecycle management, including provisioning, scaling, patching, and decommissioning
  • Actively identify and implement AIpowered automation for tasks such as incident triage, predictive alerting, and environment provisioning
  • Monitor and support DevOps platform reliability, responding to and resolving pipeline or infrastructure incidents
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes to reduce recurring issues and mean time to recovery
  • Embed DevSecOps practices throughout delivery pipelines, including vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and policyascode
  • Partner with application, cloud, platform, and security teams to continuously improve DevOps tooling and practices
  • Provide documentation, training, and technical guidance to engineering teams on CI/CD and automation best practices

Qualifications (some examples listed below):
  • Strong handson experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or equivalent
  • Proficiency with infrastructureascode tooling, particularly Terraform (required)
  • Demonstrated experience using AIpowered developer tools and automation frameworks in a DevOps or engineering context
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure); multicloud experience a plus
  • Experience scripting and automating workflows using Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Working knowledge of DevSecOps practices, including vulnerability scanning and policyascode
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a focus on automation and efficiency
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
  • 4–7 years of DevOps, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering experience
  • Experience working in Agile, crossfunctional engineering environments

What do we offer?
  • Insurance Plans (Medical, Life)
  • Pension / 401(k) / RSP (country specific)
  • Competitive Bonus
  • Mobility Allowance
  • Tuition Reimbursement
  • Company Holidays
  • Volunteering Time
  • And More…

Compensation: The base pay range for this role is $102,700 - 128,400 annually.
