Job description

About Us
ย
Solar Landscape is the leading commercial rooftop solar developer in the U.S. Only 4% of commercial rooftops host solar today - we're changing that, fast. Commercial rooftop solar is the fastest, smartest way to build new clean power - delivering megawatts of generation in months, not years, and powering America's energy and future right where it's needed most. By turning rooftops into local power plants, we're reshaping how - and how fast - energy gets built in the U.S.
ย
Recognized as the #1 Distributed Generation Developer by New Project Media, the #1 National Commercial Rooftop Solar Developer by Solar Power World, and winner of the U.S. Department of Energy's Grand Prize for Clean Energy, Solar Landscape is defining the future of energy generation in America.
ย
Headquartered in Asbury Park, New Jersey, Solar Landscape has offices in Chicago, Baltimore, and New York City and operates in over a dozen states nationwide.
ย
We move fast, solve hard problems, and take our work seriously - but never ourselves. We value clear thinking, accountability, and execution. At the same time, we're collaborative by default, and believe the best work happens when people enjoy working together. Our team is made up of smart, grounded people who show up for each other - whether that's troubleshooting a system design or catching up over lunch.
ย
If you're looking to do meaningful work in a high-performance environment - and be part of the team reshaping how energy gets built in the U.S. - we'd love to meet you.

About The Role

We are seeking a high-caliber Manager, Strategy & Operations to partner directly with the VP of Project Management and serve as an embedded operator with direct ownership over how projects are executed at scale. This is a high-impact role designed for someone with a management consulting background and EPC (or related) industry exposure who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution.

This individual will help drive operational excellence across our project management function and work closely with senior leadership to define priorities, drive structured project sprints, and translate complex data into clear, executive-ready insights that shape how projects are delivered.

The ideal candidate brings a strong consulting toolkit, paired with exposure to EPC, infrastructure, or real estate environments, and is excited to work closely with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Project Development, Finance, Engineering) to ensure consistent, high-quality performance across our growing portfolio. This role is designed as a pathway into senior leadership roles within Project Management, Business Operations, or PMO as the organization continues to scale.

We prefer the role to be based in Asbury Park, NJ or New York City, with the ability to work closely with leadership in a hybrid capacity.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Partnership & Execution: Partner directly with the VP of Project Management to define priorities, drive execution, and act as an extension of leadership to ensure alignment and accountability.

Initiative Leadership & Throughput Improvement: Own high-impact initiatives, identify bottlenecks across the project lifecycle, and implement structured solutions that improve speed, predictability, and execution.

Cross-Functional Alignment: Drive coordination across Development, Engineering, Construction, Finance, Procurement, and PMO to ensure priorities translate into action.

Data Analytics & Performance Insights: Build dashboards, analyze performance data, and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership.

Continuous Improvement & Capability Building: Capture lessons learned to refine project management best practices, tools, and governance frameworks, and strengthen PM team capabilities.

Executive Communication: Develop concise, executive-ready materials for leadership updates, decision-making, and board-level discussions.

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in consulting or a similar strategic role, with a strong track record of problem-solving, strategic thinking, and project management
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in the built environment industry (e.g., construction, infrastructure, energy, EPC, or real estate) strongly preferred
  • Adaptable, proactive, and eager to learn and take ownership of projects
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize information into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools
  • Interest in clean energy and contributing to a sustainable future
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Agile) is a plus
Benefits and Perks:

We offer competitive compensation and benefits designed to support you inside and outside of work:

  • Training / Professional development opportunities
  • 401(k) with 4% company match
  • Summer Fridays
  • Flexible remote/hybrid work options
  • Paid parental leave
  • Team lunches, events, and stocked kitchens
  • Modern, collaborative office spaces in Asbury Park, New York City, Boston, Chicago, and Baltimore
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Company-paid life and long-term disability insurance
$130,000 - $150,000 a year
