Job Description

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for maintaining our application infrastructure, creating, supporting and testing our CI/CD pipeline, and working to optimize our production environment. Additional responsibilities may include application support, internal customer interaction, audit reporting and more.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees and performs deployments made to production system
  • Manages internal communication for deployed application changes
  • Maintains production applications on servers
  • Implements deployment automation for CI/CD pipeline
  • Optimization and organization of production system environment
  • Performs maintenance of systems alongside Development and IT
  • Monitors for system issues for proactive correction
  • Performs application support for internally used services
  • Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow
  • Participates in projects/tasks as instructed by the DevOps Manager, Director of Process Improvement, and CTO
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned


Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Technical problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Containerization
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming a plus
  • 1-3 years SQL or other database query language preferred
  • 1-3 years Linux/Bash experience preferred
  • Experience troubleshooting in a live production environment preferred

  • Experience with high volume, mission critical applications
  • Experience with version control (GIT, CVS)
  • Able to read Java/C#

Education/Experience

A bachelor's degree in a technical field is not required, but preferred. More than anything, RMS is looking for people who are passionate about technology who want to develop the skills to solve hard and important problems.

Experience with above or any programming language is not required, but it is preferred.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and in the written form. The employee is physically required to utilize a laptop and other electronic devices effectively. The employee must lift and/or move up to 20 pounds (laptop computer, bag, and accessories).
