Job Description

Curinos is looking for a DevOps Manager to lead our cloud migration, automation, and release engineering initiatives as we rapidly scale and mature our systems. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with people leadership, overseeing a team responsible for building and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure systems in a cloud-based environment. A strong candidate will bring experience with AWS, experience leading collaborative engineering teams, and a practical orientation toward building scalable operational solutions and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of DevOps/Site Reliability engineers by setting clear expectations, defining measurable success metrics, and fostering a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence
  • Provide stable, secure, and reliable infrastructure across our production and non-production environments, ensuring high-availability, performance, and operational resilience while supporting engineering agility
  • Own the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to support fast, reliable software delivery
  • Architect and manage cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS), ensuring scalability, security, and cost-efficiency
  • Drive infrastructure-as-code practices using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Identify possible efficiency gains through AI
  • Establish and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure high availability and rapid incident response
  • Provide a strong leadership presence, establishing and coaching a growth mindset and culture that includes active mentorship and career progression
  • Partner with engineering, security, and product teams to align infrastructure strategy with business goals
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and change management for infrastructure initiatives, ensuring new capabilities are effectively communicated, aligned to business and engineering needs, and successfully adopted across the organization
  • Manage on-call rotations, incident response processes, and post-mortem reviews
  • Oversee capacity planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies
  • Evaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and best practices to improve system reliability and team efficiency
  • Provide production support as part of a 24/7 on-call rotation

Salary Range: $160,000- $175,000 CAD (plus bonus)

Desired Skills & Expertise

  • At least 3 years of experience in a management role with direct reports within DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, ECS/EKS, or comparable cloud services
  • Proven experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, CircleCI)
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch)
  • Familiarity with scripting/automation languages (Python, Bash, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and system administration fundamentals
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring and improving the performance of other engineers
