Is DevOps a high paying job?

DevOps infrastructure roles are generally well-compensated due to the high demand for skills in automation, cloud platforms, and continuous integration. Salaries vary based on experience, location, and certifications, but they tend to be above average compared to other IT roles.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a DevOps Infrastructure Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a DevOps Infrastructure Engineer, you need strong expertise in systems administration, cloud platforms, automation, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), often supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform, and cloud services like AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus certifications like AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, are highly valuable. Problem-solving, collaboration, and effective communication are essential soft skills to streamline workflows and bridge development and operations teams. These competencies are vital to ensure robust, scalable, and efficient infrastructure that supports rapid software delivery and reliable system performance.

What is the infrastructure of DevOps?

The infrastructure of DevOps involves a combination of tools, platforms, and practices that support continuous integration, continuous deployment, and automation. It typically includes cloud services, containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, configuration management tools such as Ansible or Terraform, and monitoring systems to ensure reliable and scalable software delivery. DevOps engineers focus on building and maintaining this infrastructure to enable efficient collaboration between development and operations teams.

Is AI replacing DevOps?

AI is increasingly being integrated into DevOps practices to automate tasks such as testing, deployment, and monitoring, enhancing efficiency and reducing manual effort. However, DevOps professionals are still essential for designing, managing, and optimizing these AI-driven tools and processes, making AI a complement rather than a replacement for DevOps roles.

What are some common challenges faced by DevOps Infrastructure professionals, and how can they be addressed?

DevOps Infrastructure professionals often encounter challenges such as managing complex cloud environments, ensuring seamless integration between development and operations, and maintaining high system reliability. Addressing these challenges typically involves adopting automation tools for configuration management, fostering close collaboration between cross-functional teams, and staying updated with evolving technologies. Regular communication, continuous learning, and a proactive approach to incident management can help mitigate these issues and contribute to a smoother DevOps workflow.

What engineers make $500,000?

Senior DevOps engineers with extensive experience, specialized skills in cloud platforms, automation, and infrastructure management can earn $500,000 or more annually, especially in high-cost-of-living areas or within large tech companies. Achieving this level often requires advanced certifications, leadership roles, and a strong track record of managing complex systems at scale.

What is DevOps infrastructure?

DevOps infrastructure refers to the combination of hardware, software, networks, and cloud resources that support the development, deployment, and operation of software applications using DevOps practices. It enables automation, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and monitoring, allowing teams to release software more quickly and reliably. DevOps infrastructure often includes tools for provisioning servers, managing configurations, containerization, orchestration, and monitoring performance. By optimizing infrastructure, organizations can improve collaboration between development and operations teams, reduce downtime, and scale applications efficiently.

DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer - Trading

Career Renew

New York, NY • Remote

$100K - $130K/yr

Full-time

Job description

Career Renew is recruiting for one of its clients a DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer - Trading - this is a fully remote role for candidates based in the US EST timezone. Salary range: 100-130K USD plus benefits.

We're launching Personal Agents — managed AI trading agents that run on our infrastructure, one per user, around the clock. We need someone to own the deployment, networking, and reliability of the fleet from day one.

What you'll do

  • Run and scale the agent fleet on Railway + AWS— each user gets an isolated agent process, with predictable cost and clean lifecycle.

  • Stand up Tailscale-based private networking between user agents, our MCP servers, and the trading runtime.

  • Build the per-user deploy pipeline (containers, secrets, env config) so onboarding a new agent is one click for the user, zero-touch for us.

  • Own monitoring, alerting, and on-call for the live fleet — including graceful behavior on host restarts, key rotation, and partial outages so we never lose in-flight trade state.

Must have

  • Production experience with Railway (or equivalent container PaaS — Fly, Render, Northflank).

  • AWS at depth — VPC, IAM, Secrets Manager, ECS / Lambda as needed.

  • Tailscalein production — ACLs, subnet routing, ephemeral nodes.

  • Strong with Docker, CI/CD, and infra-as-code.

  • Comfortable with on-call and real-incident response.

  • Blockchain/onchain experience

  • Financial-grade reliability background (every minute of downtime is real PnL).

Very Nice to have

  • Experience deploying LLM / AI agents at scale.

  • Hyperliquid or trading-systems context.
