SIGN ON BONUS-UP TO $1000 **$20.00 Hourly hiring rate** Monday - Friday 8:00 am- 4:00 pm
JOIN OUR TEAM now and make a difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities! Our mission is to advocate, support, and provide services to people with developmental and other disabilities. Our services emphasize choice and full community engagement. The Direct Support Professional provides self-care training and assistance in daily living to individuals with developmental disabilities attending the Prevocational Program.
SUMMARY: Assist individuals with developmental disabilities with skill acquisition, retention, or improvement in self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills. Assists in the development and attainment of life goals. Provides support and services to individuals to attain independence, productivity, and integration.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
  • Assists individuals in site based pre voc 3 days a week and in group day hab 2 days a week.
  • Travel between sites is required.
  • Provides safe transport of individuals.
  • Provides individualized care as outlined in the individuals Life Plan or IPOP.
  • Assists individuals in the primary activities of assigned vocational program as outlined in the individual's Life Plan and staff action plan to promote independence.

Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED; Valid NYS driver's license and maintain a driving record in accordance with our Liability/Automotive Insurance carrier. Six months to one year related experience and or training preferred.
