Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Board-Certified Physician at Georgia Regional Hospital - Atlanta, located in Decatur, Georgia. 

Job Description

Provides comprehensive medical services by examining patients, diagnosing conditions and providing treatments. Directs nurses, aides and others in the care and treatment of patients.

Duties may include: 

        Supervise staff

        Refers patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary

        Advises patients on health care including health promotion, disease, illness and accident prevention

        Coordinates work with nurses, social workers, rehabilitation therapists, pharmacists, psychologists and other health care providers

        Directs and coordinates activities of nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff

        Examines patients and take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures and consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health

        Prescribes or administers treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury

        Provides emergency medical care
