Developmental Client Coach information

What is a developmental client coach?

A Developmental Client Coach is a professional who works with clients to support their personal or professional growth and development. They use coaching techniques to help individuals identify goals, overcome obstacles, and develop action plans for improvement. Developmental Client Coaches often focus on skills such as communication, leadership, and self-awareness, and may work in various settings, including corporate, educational, or private practice. Their main goal is to empower clients to achieve their potential and foster lasting positive change.

How does a developmental client coach typically collaborate with clients and other team members to support client growth?

As a Developmental Client Coach, collaboration is central to your role. You will regularly engage with clients to set goals, monitor progress, and adjust strategies to foster their personal or professional development. Additionally, you often work closely with other coaches, therapists, or case managers to ensure a coordinated approach tailored to each client's needs. Effective communication and regular team meetings are key to delivering consistent support and optimizing client outcomes.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a developmental client coach, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Developmental Client Coach, you need a background in psychology, social work, or education, often accompanied by relevant certifications or degrees. Familiarity with case management software, developmental assessment tools, and behavior intervention systems is typically required. Outstanding soft skills include empathy, active listening, and adaptability to effectively support and motivate clients. These skills ensure personalized guidance, progress tracking, and positive outcomes for individuals with developmental needs.

What is the difference between Developmental Client Coach vs Career Counselor?

The choice depends on whether the client seeks coaching for development or specific career advice.

The role

This is a high-activity, outbound-focused sales role on a tight-knit team that knows how to win together. As a corporate development associate on our real assets vertical, you'll be on the front lines - picking up the phone, building pipeline, and opening doors with the firms that run some of the most complex asset portfolios in the world.

Unlike many entry-level sales roles, you won't just hand off a lead and move on. You'll stay engaged throughout the full sales cycle - from the first cold call to close - giving you visibility into how deals are built and the skills to grow into a closing role.

If you're motivated by the grind of cold calling, thrive in a collaborative environment, and want to build deep expertise in a specialized industry, this is the role for you.

What you'll do

  • Drive outbound prospecting through high-volume cold calling, email outreach, and strategic sequencing to generate qualified pipeline

  • Identify and engage decision-makers at real assets firms - including private equity real estate, infrastructure, and asset management firms

  • Stay involved across the full sales cycle, from initial outreach through discovery, follow-up, and close - working alongside account executives at every stage

  • Develop a deep understanding of each prospect's business so handoffs are seamless and context is never lost

  • Partner closely with account executives to move prospects through the pipeline and support deal momentum

  • Research target accounts using tools including HubSpot, ZoomInfo, and Sales Navigator to build informed outreach strategies

  • Log all activity and maintain clean records in HubSpot

  • Contribute to team call reviews, share what's working, and help refine scripts and messaging

  • Meet and exceed weekly and monthly activity and pipeline targets

What we're looking for

  • Comfort with and commitment to cold calling - this is a phone-first role

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to hold a conversation with senior professionals

  • A competitive mindset paired with a team-first attitude - we win and lose together

  • Curiosity about the real assets industry and eagerness to develop vertical expertise

  • Experience with CRM tools and sales sequencing platforms is a plus

  • Prior SDR, BDR, or outbound sales experience preferred but not required

The product you'll be selling

Intapp Properties is purpose-built for real assets firms - giving investment and asset management teams a single platform to manage deals, relationships, and portfolios across the full asset lifecycle.

Properties began as Termsheet, a startup built from the ground up by people who understood the real assets industry. Intapp acquired Termsheet and brought it into the platform as Intapp Properties - combining the focus of a purpose-built product with the scale and security of an established enterprise platform. When you're talking to prospects, you're not selling a retrofitted tool. You're selling something designed for their world from day one.

Why this team

We're a small, close team that takes the work seriously and looks out for each other. You'll get real coaching, real feedback, and a clear path forward. The real assets vertical is one of the most dynamic and complex markets we serve - and the Intapp Properties opportunity is still in its early stages. There's a lot of ground left to cover.
