Position Summary:

As a Commercial Strategy and Operations Associate, you will play a vital role in driving efficiencies and growth in our Sales organization through technical, operational, and analytical support. Based in the US with a hybrid or fully remote work arrangement, you will have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of Sales technologies and processes while developing strong business acumen. This role reports directly to the Senior Manager of Commercial Strategy and Operations.

Team Summary:

The Commercial Strategy and Operations (CSO) team strategically partners with the Sales organization to drive operational efficiencies and deliver growth. The team identifies opportunities to improve business outcomes through strategic data analysis, process redesign, and the implementation of advanced technologies. By building new analytics packages and deploying innovative internal tools, the CSO team supports key growth initiatives and ensures that our Sales strategies are both data-driven and effective across the healthcare landscape.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Support operational needs of the Sales team by managing quota maintenance, territory alignment documentation, and user provisioning.

  • Analyze ad-hoc data pulls and develop reports to identify insights and opportunities that improve commercial performance.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive reporting on key performance indicator trends and business outcomes.

  • Assist in redesigning processes within Sales and the broader commercial organization to drive efficiency.

  • Create detailed process documentation, training materials, and adherence reports for new or updated processes.

  • Collaborate with Software/Product Management teams to define business requirements and design internal tools and solutions, including Salesforce.com.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the annual strategic planning process by assisting with forecast models for KPIs and Sales goal setting.

  • Assist in producing business reports and metrics packages for leadership review, highlighting key insights and strategic opportunities.

Expected Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with 0-2+ years of professional experience (including internships) or 4+ years of relevant experience.

  • Interest or experience supporting B2B SaaS or high-tech customer organizations. Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.

  • Interest or experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, or business analytics and process development.

  • Intellectual curiosity with excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Analytical skills with proficiency in data management, presentation, and clear verbal and written communication.

  • Experience with BI or reporting tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM systems is a plus.

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or Snowflake is a plus.

Expected Compensation

$73,000 - $125,000

The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevantknowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles,and geographical market rates. Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
