Who You Are & the Impact You Will Have:

The Development Specialist (Data Center Construction) provides comprehensive administrative, operational, and project coordination support to the Development department. This role supports the planning, coordination, and execution of data center construction projects. The Specialist ensures project milestones are met, documentation is maintained to corporate standards, and communication flows effectively across all stakeholders. Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, technical environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Coordinate onboarding logistics for new hires, including schedules, materials, orientation sessions, and cross-department collaboration with HR, IT, and hiring managers. Ensure workstations, system access, and training resources are ready prior to start dates.

  • Support multiple development projects across one or more campuses, including tracking project deliverables, managing documentation, and ensuring compliance and version control.

  • Partner with project managers to monitor project milestones, risks, dependencies, and action items, providing regular progress updates and escalating issues as appropriate.

  • Manage vendor onboarding, coordination, and shipment logistics, including packaging and labeling in compliance with company and carrier requirements.

  • Coordinate logistics for meetings, events, conferences, and project-related activities, including travel arrangements, itineraries, agendas, meeting materials, and catering.

  • Maintain office organization, supplies, and cleanliness across multiple development sites. Monitor inventory and reorder office supplies as needed.

  • Partner with site security to establish construction security protocols and manage access credentials as needed.

  • Prepare and present project status updates and executive reports, including tracking daily logs, incidents, and environmental compliance.

  • Coordinate "topping out" events and other milestone celebrations in partnership with contractors and marketing teams.

  • Accurately process and submit executive expense reports in a timely manner.

  • Collect and share best practices with project teams to promote efficiency and continuous improvement.

  • Assist in the execution and administration of contracts.

  • Assist in local jurisdiction permitting and entitlement processing and reporting.

What You Will Need to be Successful (basic qualifications):

  • Minimum 2+/- years Associate's Degree

  • 2 + years of relevant experience in construction administration, project coordination, development operations or related field.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Experience with project management tools such as Procore is preferred.

  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills with attention to detail.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Experience in data center or other complex construction/mission-critical facility environment.
