Location: Washington, DC, Maryland & Virgina (DMV)
The difference you'll make:
We're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to help establish and grow d'ploy, a division of dancker, throughout the DMV market. In this strategic, market-facing role, you'll build new client relationships, develop referral networks, identify opportunities, and generate qualified pipeline growth across healthcare, life sciences, government, and corporate sectors. You'll own the early stages of the business development process, from prospecting and discovery through qualification, solution alignment, proposal support, and transition to the appropriate sales or operations team. If you're a proactive, consultative relationship builder who enjoys opening doors, creating opportunities, and helping clients solve complex operational challenges, we'd love to hear from you.
How you'll make an impact:
Market Development & Relationship Building
  • Develop new business opportunities throughout the DMV region.
  • Build relationships with healthcare systems, corporate real estate leaders, facilities professionals, life sciences organizations, and government agencies.
  • Establish referral partnerships with brokers, project management firms, architects, designers, contractors, and workplace consultants.
  • Represent d'ploy at industry events, trade associations, and networking functions.
  • Maintain a consistent in-market presence through client meetings, site visits, industry events, and networking opportunities across Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
Pipeline Generation
  • Own and manage a disciplined prospecting and qualification process, including target account planning, outreach activity, discovery conversations, opportunity tracking, and regular pipeline updates.
  • Generate opportunities across asset management, inventory management, warehousing, storage, medical and healthcare logistics, workplace moves, decommissioning, FF&E installation, furniture reuse, and liquidation programs.
  • Identify recurring service agreements, multi-site programs, and long-term client partnerships that support sustainable revenue growth.
Strategic Collaboration
  • Partner with dancker's Furniture, Workplace Technology, and Specialty Construction teams to identify growth opportunities.
  • Facilitate introductions and transition qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales and operational teams.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop client presentations, proposals, business cases, pricing inputs, and tailored solutions that align with client needs.
  • Share market intelligence, client insights, and strategic growth opportunities with leadership.
  • Maintain accurate business development activity, client notes, opportunity stages, and forecasting information in the company's CRM or designated pipeline management system.
  • Build and manage a qualified sales pipeline that supports d'ploy's growth goals throughout the DMV region.
  • Generate recurring logistics and asset management opportunities across healthcare, corporate, life sciences, and government markets.
  • Establish d'ploy as a recognized logistics and asset management partner through consistent market presence, strategic referral relationships, and client engagement.
  • Maintain accurate CRM activity, opportunity stages, forecasting, and pipeline reporting to support visibility, accountability, and informed decision-making.

What you'll bring to this role:
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, consultative sales, strategic account growth, or related B2B sales experience, preferably within logistics, asset management, workplace services, facilities management, healthcare operations, commercial real estate, construction, moving and storage, furniture, or related industries
  • Proven success in business development, sales, or strategic account growth.
  • Strong prospecting, networking, and relationship-development skills.
  • Experience engaging executive-level decision makers.
  • Ability to operate independently and create opportunities from the ground up.
  • Experience in logistics, healthcare, facilities management, workplace services, commercial real estate, moving and storage, construction, or related industries preferred.
  • Existing DMV relationships are preferred.
  • Experience using CRM systems, sales reporting tools, Microsoft Office, and presentation materials to manage pipeline activity and communicate opportunities.
