We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to lead our environmental testing laboratory in Plano, TX.
In this role, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership for a growing environmental laboratory that plays a critical role in supporting regulatory compliance, environmental stewardship, and public health. You'll be responsible for overall laboratory performance, leading efforts that drive quality, compliance, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and sustainable growth. Working closely with laboratory supervisors, quality leaders, and cross-functional partners, you'll champion continuous improvement, strengthen operational performance, and foster a culture built on accountability, scientific excellence, and exceptional service.
What You'll Do
  • Provide overall leadership and operational oversight for environmental testing laboratory operations
  • Lead and develop laboratory supervisors and technical leaders, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Maintain responsibility for laboratory performance, staffing strategy, resource planning, operational efficiency, and business results
  • Ensure compliance with EPA methodologies, NELAP/TNI accreditation requirements, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Oversee laboratory throughput, turnaround times, productivity, and service delivery to meet client expectations and business objectives
  • Direct laboratory resource planning, including personnel, instrumentation, equipment, facilities, and laboratory supplies
  • Maintain and strengthen laboratory quality systems, QA/QC programs, data integrity practices, and accreditation readiness
  • Review laboratory performance metrics and quality indicators to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Lead internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and corrective action initiatives to ensure ongoing compliance and accreditation success
  • Identify and implement operational improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, capacity, and overall laboratory performance
  • Partner with Quality, Client Services, Operations, and Business Development teams to support customer satisfaction, business growth, and strategic initiatives
  • Provide leadership and guidance regarding laboratory capabilities, analytical services, and operational best practices
  • Support employee development, succession planning, and leadership growth within the laboratory organization
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, or a related scientific discipline
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience overseeing environmental laboratory operations within an accredited testing environment
  • Proven experience leading teams through audits, inspections, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong understanding of environmental analytical testing, laboratory quality systems, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Working knowledge of EPA methodologies, NELAP/TNI accreditation standards, and environmental testing best practices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), and laboratory reporting systems
