Growth & Business Development Director

Location:Boston, MA with travel as needed
Reports to:Chief of Staff


Role Summary

The Director of Growth & Business Development is responsible for generating new business opportunities and converting qualified leads into revenue. This role combines strategic prospecting, relationship-building, consultative selling, and hands-on marketing execution to position VUE Health as the partner of choice for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.


This leader willown and manage the full RFP process, act as theprimary point of contact for prospects during the sales cycle, andexecute marketing strategies that elevate brand visibility and drive pipeline growth. This role also supervises acontract sales support resourceto ensure coordinated outreach, lead management, and follow-through.


This is a high-impact role for a proactive, relationship-driven professional who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution.


Key Responsibilities


Business Development + Pipeline Growth

  • Identify, pursue, and qualify new business opportunities across emerging biotech and pharmaceutical organizations.
  • Lead outreach efforts to targeted marketing, medical affairs, and commercial leaders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective clients throughout the sales and evaluation process.
  • Manage and optimize CRM usage, pipeline hygiene, and reporting.

RFP Ownership + Proposal Leadership

  • Lead the full RFP and proposal development process.
  • Gather and translate client objectives into clear strategic and creative proposals.
  • Collaborate with internal strategy, creative, medical, and client services teams to shape recommended solutions.
  • Ensure proposals are on time, aligned with brand needs, and positioned for win-ability.

Sales Process Leadership

  • During the sales cycle act as the primary point of contact, ensuring responsiveness, clarity, and strong relationship building.
  • Coordinate pitch preparation, including story development, team alignment, and live presentation readiness.
  • Guide post-pitch follow-through, objection handling, and negotiation coordination.

Marketing Strategy + Execution

  • Execute multi-channel marketing initiatives to elevate VUE Health's brand and value proposition.
  • Oversee the creation of thought leadership, case studies, sales collateral, and digital marketing assets
  • Plan and optimize campaigns that generate qualified leads (email, digital, events, partnerships).
  • Maintain consistency of voice and brand presence across internal and external platforms.

Team + Vendor Leadership

  • Manage and mentor a contract sales support resource responsible for outreach and lead sourcing.
  • Coordinate with internal creative and medical teams as needed to support business development functions.


Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in business development, account leadership, or marketing within healthcare, biotech, or pharmaceutical marketing/communications.
  • Strong track record of leading or contributing to successful RFP or pitch processes.
  • Deep familiarity with pharmaceutical launch ecosystems, medical communications, or brand marketing environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills with executive presence and relationship-building strengths.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment where clarity and initiative matter.
