Job description

Marketing & Communications ManagerReporting to the Vice-President, Strategic Development, the Marketing & Communications Manager will play a key role in delivering Bird's corporate brand, marketing, and communications strategy. This role oversees national digital and website presence, brand management, external communications, and strategic initiatives, while leading a team and partnering closely with executive leadership, operations, and cross-functional stakeholders. The position requires balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day execution in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Please note that this position is currently slated for a 24-month term with a possibility for extension.What You Will Be Working On
TeamLeadership &Project Management
  • Lead and develop a team of marketing and communications professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment

  • Provide structure and oversight to intake and prioritization, ensuring requests are aligned with broader strategic goals

  • Manage projects from concept to completion by developing communications plans, establishing workback schedules, and reinforcing accountability across stakeholders

  • Guide the team through a dynamic, fast-paced environment, balancing planned initiatives with emerging and time-sensitive needs

  • Enable the team tooperateeffectively by removing barriers, aligning stakeholders, and managing competing priorities

  • Build andmaintainstrong relationships across business units and corporate functions

  • Partner closely with executive leadership to support strategic marketing and communications initiatives

  • Manage team KPIs andmeasure results for executive reporting

Website Governance
  • Oversee Bird's corporate and subsidiary websites, ensuring alignment with brand standards, business priorities, and performance objectives

  • Provide structure and governance for website and digital requests, overseeing intake, prioritization, and delivery across the organization

  • Act as the central liaison between business units, marketing, and web development teams to ensure alignment and execution

  • Identifyopportunities to enhance user experience, content structure, and overall website performance


Brand &Marketing
  • Provide strategic leadership and governance for Bird's corporate brand across all channels, business units, and subsidiaries, including visual brand standards and logo application across print, promotional materials, fleet, and office environments.

  • Guide branding for major initiatives, campaigns, and strategic programs in partnership with internal subject matter experts

  • Ensure all outputs consistently align with brand standards and support a cohesive market presence

  • Lead key corporate initiatives, including major marketing engagements and corporate events

External Communications
  • Provide strategic leadership andgovernancefor external communications across digital and traditional channels, including social media, video, and campaigns

  • Provide directionand support formedia relations,crisis communications, issues management, and reputation protection

  • Ensure communications align with applicable regulatory and compliance requirements, including privacy and media regulations, accessibility legislation across Canadianjurisdictions, French language requirements (Charter of the French Language), and Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)

What We Are Looking For
  • 7+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field

  • Proven experience leading corporate brand and external communications in a complex organization

  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to align stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills across senior leadership and cross-functional teams

  • Technicalproficiencyusingdigital tools such as Monday.com, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience in construction industry is considered anasset
