 Terradyne Engineering, a geotechnical engineering company, has a unique opportunity for a Business Development Associate to continue our mission of growth and quality work product. 



We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Business Development Associate to help us expand our clientele and business opportunities. To excel in this role, you should be an active listener, have a compelling sales personality, and a hunger to create and close new business. The successful candidate enjoys making a difference, being part of a team and taking pride in their career.   • Develop strategies, prepare and facilitate presentations, RFQ and RFP responses, and participate in the preparation of proposals and bids 
  • Lead efforts to build and maintain strong sales pipelines and forecasts associated with substantiated opportunities for all branches
  • Develop and maintain a network of industry contacts, i.e., consultants, contractors, engineering and architectural colleagues, developers, clients; cultivate leads and gather intelligence through the network
  • Compile research regarding existing and prospective clients, competitor activity, and the industry and/or market trends to aid in the development of marketing plans, proposals, and presentations
  • Seek new opportunities in our target markets 
  • Develop local marketing plans
  • Lead business development activities
  • Participate in client meetings with technical staff and project managers
  • Perform market research to identify new business opportunity leads
  • Attend industry related organization functions
  • Develop and capture unsolicited opportunities with clients to increase sales
  • Lead efforts to build and maintain strong sales pipelines and forecasts associated with substantiated opportunities 
  • Generate qualified leads related to geotechnical and construction materials testing services 
  • Convert qualified leads into sales
  • Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction.
  • Promote the company's products/services, addressing or predicting clients' objectives.
  • Increase the value of current customers while attracting new ones.
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Contact potential clients to establish rapport and secure meetings for additional opportunities
  • Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events.
  • Assist in developing quotes and proposals for clients.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven working experience as a business development associate or similar role.
  • Proven sales track record.
  • Proficiency using LinkedIn and other social media platforms.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Knowledge and experience of geotechnical and construction markets.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build rapport.
  • Time management and planning skills.
  • Minimum three years of business development, client interaction, pursuit of opportunities and proposal development
  • Ability to demonstrate professional judgment, consistency and strong attention to detail
  • Experience preparing proposals and bids to general contractors/other engineering firms
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with CRM databases, social media and other marketing campaign strategies
  • Advanced market research skills.
