Job description

Position Summary:

The Business Development Associate will support the success of Hillis-Carnes companies by individual actions and oversight of various activities that will result in building relationships, improving market position, locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing on increasing project, contract and task service opportunities.

Position Objectives and Requirements:

  • Develop and maintain an understanding of company services and differentiators
  • Develop and maintain a market understanding, identifying viable business opportunities and potential relationships
  • Build new relationships; nurture existing relationships
  • Facilitate introductions of potential clients to members of the firm
  • Evaluate, pursue and follow up on leads in the market on a timely basis, as directed
  • Track leads and opportunities, as well as relationship engagement
  • Participate and/or direct proposal responses; work with the project team on interview messages and delivery, as needed
  • Participate and/or lead select firm-wide activities and programs, such as Quality Contacts
  • Attend industry networking events with selective participation with relevant associations

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while successfully managing multiple priorities
  • Ability to continuously meet deadlines, independently or as part of a project team.
  • Ability to work extended hours, as needed.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe programs; standard office equipment
  • Meticulous with details and organization skills necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent
  • Minimum two or more years of related business development experience
  • One year+ in the A/E/C consulting industry or related professional services field
