The Technology LDP is an 18-month experiential commitment crafted to cultivate your business knowledge, gain on-the-job training, network in an encouraging, inclusive, team-based environment, have exposure to senior leaders and contribute to the success of the company through 3-4 rotations. With access to our Business Resource Networks - which includes the Black Employee Network, Young Professionals Network, PRIDE Network - you will increase your own sense of belonging and engage in relevant networking and development opportunities. Embark on this journey as a Leadership Development Program Associate and lay the foundation for your future.
The 18-month Technology LDP program offer a structured technical concentration or a pathway to upskill in a specific technology team. Specific programs change annually, and rotations are pre-determined for each concentration or pathway. The current program(s) we are hiring for are the:
• Global Workface Technology Solutions Pathway
• Cloud Transformation & Strategy Pathway (2)
• Information Security Services Pathway
After exploring the breadth of the business unit through each rotation, LDPs may have the opportunity to post to a permanent position within Ameriprise Financial.
The Technology LDP contributes to the success of the firm by delivering technology solutions to support the evolving needs of our clients, advisors, and employees. Our Technology organization is committed to strengthening and securing our systems, delivering unparalleled customer experiences, uncovering efficiencies, and growing and succeeding as a team.
As part of the Technology Leadership Development Program, you will cultivate leadership skills by co-collaborating and leading different Committees (Employee Engagement, Professional Development, Volunteer Committee and more).
Responsibilities vary depending on rotation and assigned projects(s) and may include:
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements
  • Develop, document, test, and modify new and existing code
  • Develop, document, test, modify, troubleshoot and maintain new and existing software applications
  • Develop working knowledge of Ameriprise systems, processes, data, and vendor tools
  • Learn and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to the development life cycle
  • Write and maintain development/programming/systems documentation, as well as operations and user guides, as required.
  • Make recommendations for improvements. Continuously improve analysis skills and best practices from prior projects, training and peer learning.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with technology teams, business partners and LDP peers
  • Participation in Technology LDP Committees

Examples of past LDP projects include:
  • Application migration to cloud hosting platform
  • Application development of advisor facing tools
  • Identifying, developing, testing and implementing automation solutions
  • Data Analysis and dashboard creation
  • Working with cloud native tools to cloud optimization and automation
  • Identifying cost-saving solutions in cloud hosting platform
  • Implementation and testing of features in file storage
  • Database resiliency to quickly generate a new primary database cluster during outage

Required Qualifications
  • Current Senior at a 4-year university pursing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Science, Information Technology Infrastructure, or related field.
  • Graduation date of December 2026 or May/June 2027
  • Commitment to complete the full 18-month Leadership Development Program

  • High degree of self-motivation with strong integrity and ethics
  • Proven organization skills and ability to manage time effectively
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work and communicate collaboratively with all levels of the organization including team members, managers, and senior leaders
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Prior classroom, project, or work experience with software development/programming/coding

In-Office Collaboration
We are a client-centric, relationship-based business. Working together, in-person, is foundational to how we achieve results. By fostering a culture of face-to-face collaboration, idea sharing, productivity and personal connection, we deliver for our stakeholders - clients, advisors, employees and shareholders. Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different in-office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.
Base Pay Salary
The estimated base salary range for this role is between $85,000. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.
