Position Overview

The Transportation Associate plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient movement of products globally from our distribution center. This position offers significant autonomy and empowers individuals to make decisions, solve complex transportation challenges, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency.

This is more than a transactional role. The successful candidate will have opportunities to partner with management, recommend process improvements, and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices that enhance customer service and transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily transportation activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of customer orders.
  • Work closely with carriers, compliance teams, distribution personnel, corporate departments, and field locations.
  • Assign shipments to appropriate carrier routes within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Obtain and evaluate freight quotes to support cost-effective shipping decisions.
  • Monitor, track, and trace customer shipments and proactively resolve transportation issues.
  • Upgrade shipping services when required to meet customer expectations.
  • Process and manage customer returns and transportation-related claims.
  • Obtain and maintain proof of delivery documentation.
  • Redirect or intercept shipments when necessary to support changing customer needs.
  • Create, maintain, and analyze transportation-related reports.
  • Collaborate with shipping dock personnel and production teams to resolve carrier-related challenges.
  • Identify opportunities to improve transportation processes, customer service, and operational efficiency.
  • Support management in the implementation of new procedures, technologies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in customer service, transportation, logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced operational environment is preferred.
