The Associate Director, Strategy plays a critical role in shaping enterprise and business unit strategy by leading high-impact analytical work, translating complex data into actionable insights, and supporting senior leadership decision-making. This role serves as a strategic thought partner, driving clarity on strategic priorities, competitive positioning, and long-term growth opportunities. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Strategy and Business Development.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
  • Lead enterprise-level and segment-level strategy initiatives, including growth strategy, portfolio assessment, and priority-setting efforts.
  • Frame ambiguous strategic questions into structured problem statements and lead end-to-end analysis from hypothesis development through executive recommendation.
  • Support annual strategic planning and long-range planning processes, including deep-dive strategic reviews.
  • Conduct market, industry, and competitive analysis, translating external signals and trends into clear strategic implications.
  • Identify and evaluate white-space opportunities, adjacency strategies, and transformation initiatives.
  • Support evaluation of strategic rationale and growth assumptions associated with potential transactions. Participate selectively in M&A diligence workstreams
  • Develop high-quality, executive-ready presentations and briefing materials related to strategy topics.

YOU HAVE:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering or related field required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of professional experience, in corporate strategy, management consulting, corporate development, or a related strategic role.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional strategy projects from problem definition through recommendation.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including market analysis, competitive strategy, financial and investment logic, and scenario planning.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to simplify complex topics for senior executive audiences.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.

Pay Transparency
nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range:
$146,300.00 - $271,700.00
Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
