Location: This is an onsite position based out of Berlin, CT 5 days a week

What you will be doing:

The Employee Development Specialist will support the execution and continuous improvement of the company's employee onboarding, development, and engagement programs. This role will be responsible for coordinating onboarding activities, supporting employee development initiatives, facilitating training and mentorship opportunities, and helping employees successfully navigate key career development experiences.

This individual will support a high-volume onboarding and employee development program while partnering with hiring managers, HR, leadership, IT, Marketing & Training, and business teams to deliver a consistent and engaging employee experience. Success in this role will require exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, strong project management capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key areas you will contribute to the role include:

 Employee Onboarding & Development:

  • Support the coordination and execution of onboarding and employee development programs across the organization.
  • Manage onboarding schedules, communications, checklists, training resources, development materials, and key milestones.
  • Partner with hiring managers, HR, IT, Training, and business leaders to ensure onboarding and development activities are completed successfully and on schedule.
  • Maintain onboarding tools, resources, program documentation, and development materials to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
  • Support continuous enhancements to onboarding and development experiences that promote employee success and engagement.

Employee Experience & Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Facilitate new hire orientation sessions, onboarding events, employee experience activities, and professional development programs.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for new employees throughout their onboarding journey.
  • Coordinate welcome communications, mentorship assignments, networking opportunities, and employee engagement touchpoints.
  • Build strong relationships with managers, leaders, mentors, trainers, and cross-functional partners to support employee success and development.
  • Conduct onboarding and development check-ins and assist in addressing challenges or opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide logistical and program support for the Sales Trainee Educational Program and other employee development initiatives.
  • Support participant progression through training, onboarding, development, and career advancement opportunities.

Program Operations & Administration:

  • Maintain detailed program schedules, timelines, tracking tools, and implementation plans.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure readiness for onboarding sessions, training programs, development events, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Support internal communications related to onboarding, development, and employee experience programs.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes, documentation standards, and program requirements.

Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement:

  • Track onboarding, training, mentorship, and employee development program participation and completion.
  • Maintain program records, reporting tools, dashboards, and employee development documentation.
  • Gather feedback from employees, trainees, managers, and mentors to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support initiatives designed to improve employee engagement, development, readiness, retention, and overall employee experience.

  • Ability to travel occasionally to support onboarding events, training programs, and employee development initiatives.
  • Ability to work onsite at Berlin, CT 5 days a week and while traveling.

Education and/or experience:

  • Your background includes a Bachelor's degree (preference for specialization in related curricula such as: Marketing, Communications, Business, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field), or have work experience commensurate with, minimum high school/GED diploma.
  • Preferred: 3-5+ years of experience designing, coordinating, and delivering employee experience, learning and development, talent growth, onboarding, and engagement initiatives that support employee development and organizational effectiveness.
  • Experience coordinating programs involving multiple stakeholders, timelines, and participant groups.
  • Experience facilitating onboarding activities, employee events, training sessions, or development programs preferred.
  • Experience gathering and analyzing feedback, tracking program effectiveness, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience supporting early career, trainee, internship, leadership development, or mentorship programs preferred.
  • Exposure to B2B, sales, or corporate environments preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams).
  • Experience supporting employee communications, internal events, or engagement initiatives preferred.

Organizational relationships:

  • The Employee Development Specialist will report to the Sr. Manager, National Events & Prof. Dev. as part of the Marketing and Training department.

Special considerations:

  • Must be available to work onsite at Berlin, CT 5 days a week.
  • Must be willing to travel (up to 30%).
