Job description

IT - DSS - Information Systems Architect - Project Lead AWS Developer/Administrator Location: Remote Duration: 12+ Months Employment Type: Contract (C2C / W2) Experience Required: 7+ Years Project Scope: Seeking an experienced AWS Developer / Administrator to support cloud modernization initiatives and maintain AWS-based infrastructure and applications. The role involves designing, developing, deploying, and managing secure, scalable cloud environments while supporting both cloud-native and hybrid workloads. The candidate will collaborate with engineering, development, security, and operations teams to ensure high availability, performance, and compliance of AWS services.

Key Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and administer AWS environments following industry best practices. Manage AWS account structures, IAM roles, policies, and least-privilege access controls. Build and maintain solutions using core AWS services including EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, Lambda, Auto Scaling, and Elastic Load Balancing.

Configure and manage network infrastructure, including VPCs, subnets, routing tables, and security groups. Implement and manage storage services such as S3, EBS, and EFS with lifecycle policies. Develop serverless applications using Lambda and API Gateway.

Monitor and maintain cloud environments using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS Config. Develop and support Amazon Connect contact center environments, including contact flows, queues, routing profiles, and integrations with APIs and Lambda functions. Design and integrate AI-enabled solutions using Amazon Bedrock when required.

Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform. Support CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows for application deployments. Monitor performance, availability, and optimize cloud costs.

Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues across production and non-production environments. Work with security teams to ensure encryption, logging, monitoring, and compliance standards are met. Maintain documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams.

Provide technical mentoring and knowledge transfer to team members. Participate in maintenance, upgrades, and occasional after-hours support. Required Skills & Experience: 6+ years of overall IT experience supporting enterprise systems.

3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS development and administration. Strong experience with core AWS services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, and Lambda. 3+ years of experience working with Amazon Connect or contact center technologies.

Experience integrating APIs, serverless architectures, and cloud services. Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code and automation. Knowledge of AWS security best practices, logging, and monitoring.

Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or similar languages. Preferred Skills: Experience with AI/ML integrations and prompt engineering. Experience with hybrid cloud architectures and third-party integrations.

Knowledge of cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices. Experience with Azure cloud services. Strong experience building integrations using APIs and serverless technologies.
