Job description

All Options is looking for a Trading Systems Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure Team in our Austin, TX office. This isn't your average IT role; you will operate at the intersection of high-performance systems and low latency within geographically constrained infrastructure where precision matters. As we expand our trading footprint, we are growing our US presence and hiring a versatile Systems Engineer to join our global Infrastructure team and support our efforts to expand our physical presence to additional US exchanges.


You will share and ultimately have ownership of our infrastructure, with a focus on the US environment, while collaborating closely with colleagues in Amsterdam and Austin. You will build a deep understanding of our server landscape, network topology, cloud providers, and core systems to ensure our platform runs securely, reliably, and at high performance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design and evolution of a scalable, multi-location IT architecture capable of handling varying loads and latency requirements
  • Collaborate on new installations, including low-latency exchange connectivity and server deployments in collaboration with our in-house infrastructure and development teams as well as external vendors
  • Collaborate with infrastructure engineers, performance engineers, and our in-house development teams to proactively identify and resolve system reliability risks
  • Build and operate Kubernetes environments, including developing operators and improving deployment pipelines
  • Migrate legacy systems to modern infrastructure designs and continuously optimize performance
  • Design and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery solutions


Key Requirements:

We are looking for someone with 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure roles, who meets most of the following criteria (or is eager to grow into them):

  • Strong experience with Kubernetes and containerization (Docker)
  • Solid background in Linux systems administration
  • Good understanding of server, storage, network infrastructure
  • Experience with setting up and managing low-latency exchange infrastructure
  • Experience with automation, scripting (e.g. Bash), and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows and tools
  • Knowledge of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and firewalls
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or Zabbix
  • Basic experience with network analysis tools (e.g. Wireshark, tcpdump)
  • Experience with virtualization technologies and storage provisioning (e.g. VMware) is a plus
