Job description

About the Role
StocksToTrade and Millionaire Publishing are seeking an experienced Trading Systems Developer to join our
fast-moving fintech and financial education ecosystem on a contract basis. This role sits at the intersection of
quantitative analysis, AI, and real-world trading - and is critical to helping our community of active traders
make smarter, faster decisions.
You will work closely with our trading and content teams to research, design, build, and validate custom
technical indicators and automated signals for platforms like TradingView. Day-to-day, you'll be prototyping new
indicator ideas, stress-testing them against historical data, and refining them through iterative backtesting - in
a collaborative, results-driven environment where good ideas ship fast.
Independent Contractor Notice: This is a contract/1099 engagement. No employee benefits, health insurance,
retirement plans, or equipment are provided. Contractors are responsible for their own tools, workspace, and tax
obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Indicator Research & Development
• Research and evaluate new technical indicator concepts based on price action, volume, momentum, and
market structure
• Design and build custom buy/sell signal indicators, screener alerts, and strategy scripts primarily in Pine
Script on TradingView
• Leverage AI and machine learning tools to identify patterns, optimize signal logic, and enhance indicator
accuracy
• Collaborate with traders and analysts to translate market intuition and trading methodologies into coded,
testable indicators
Backtesting & Validation
• Develop and execute rigorous backtesting frameworks to evaluate indicator performance across various
asset classes, timeframes, and market conditions
• Analyze backtest results, identify overfitting risks, and iterate on logic to improve real-world reliability
• Document performance metrics including win rate, risk/reward, drawdown, and edge statistics for internal
review
AI & Tooling Integration
• Apply AI-powered tools and large language model (LLM) workflows to accelerate indicator research, code
generation, and hypothesis testing
• Stay current on AI advancements relevant to quantitative trading and propose integrations that give
StocksToTrade's community a competitive edge
• Evaluate third-party data feeds, APIs, and tools that can enhance signal quality or expand research
capabilities
Collaboration & Documentation
• Work with the product and education teams to translate technical indicator logic into content and tools
accessible to retail traders
• Maintain clear documentation of indicator specifications, version history, and testing results
• Participate in regular reviews to align indicator development with community needs and platform roadmap
Qualifications
Required
• Demonstrated experience building and backtesting custom trading indicators in TradingView
• Strong background in technical analysis and active trading - you understand what makes a signal
actionable, not just statistically valid
• Hands-on experience with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar) applied to research, code
generation, or market analysis
• Proficiency in at least one additional language relevant to quantitative trading (Python strongly preferred)
• Deep understanding of backtesting methodology, including walk-forward testing, parameter sensitivity, and
avoiding look-ahead bias
• Ability to work independently, manage your own timeline, and deliver on a contract basis
Preferred
• Experience trading equities, options, or futures - particularly in short-term or active strategies
• Familiarity with StocksToTrade, Millionaire Publishing products, or the retail trader education space
• Background in machine learning or statistical modeling applied to financial time series
• Experience with data APIs (Polygon, Alpaca, Quandl, or similar) for extended historical data and backtesting
• Contributions to open-source trading tools, TradingView public scripts, or trading communities
