POSITION SUMMARY:
The Engineering Manager is self-motivated and bridges technical execution with business strategy, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on time, within budget while developing people and processes. This role requires technical expertise in product design and manufacturing, balanced with leadership, project management, and communication skills.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead and develop engineering staff to grow their technical expertise to solve complex problems.
  • Strong understanding engineering principles, product development processes (stage-gate), and manufacturing processes
  • Manage and develop product solutions from idea conception through product launch.
  • Manage and develop cost optimization (Total Cost Productivity) solutions
  • Support resolution of quality, customer, and manufacturing issues as they arise
  • Proficient at problem-solving and decision making to address complex technical challenges
  • Ensure product compliance and facilitate problem-solving by employing root cause analysis
  • Knowledge of DOE and statistical tools
  • Establish departmental KPIs and provide monthly performance reporting
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, and manage resources for development of product solutions consistent with established objectives, compliance requirements, timelines, and budgets.
  • Collaborate and leverage internal and external teams, including quality, product compliance, procurement, product management, and manufacturing teams to ensure products are designed and evaluated to meet compliance targets.
  • Articulate product requirements, progress, and challenges to team members and stakeholders
  • Develop test methods, standards, and protocols supporting the implementation of product designs
  • Prepare reports and presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working in product development, familiarity with stage-gate process
  • Project Management experience managing multiple projects
  • Working knowledge and experience with technical tools
  • Ability to travel (15-20%)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's in mechanical engineering
  • Experience in plumbing, building materials or manufacturing industries.

COMPETENCIES:
  • Demonstrated skill in being detail-oriented, organized work, setting priorities, and sound decision making
  • Technical aptitude and familiarity with machining molding & assembly manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization, with strong written, verbal, active listening, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated collaborative approach to learning and performing.
