Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a distributed software engineering team responsible for building core capabilities of the ClusterWareAI platform.
This role is ideal for a technically strong engineering leader who enjoys developing high-performing teams while remaining actively engaged in architecture, execution, and technical decision-making. You will partner closely with Product Management, Principal Engineers, Architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver scalable, cloud-native platform capabilities that power modern AI factories.
As an Engineering Manager, you will drive engineering excellence, execution, and team development while helping shape the future of ClusterWareAI. Success in this role requires balancing people leadership with technical judgment, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability, and enabling your team to deliver high-quality software that solves complex infrastructure challenges.
Responsibilities
  • Drive roadmap execution from design through delivery, ensuring quality, predictability, and technical excellence
  • Oversee engineering planning, prioritization, and delivery across multiple initiatives, ensuring high quality and predictable execution.
  • Champion best practices in software architecture, CI/CD, testing, security, and operational excellence.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and delivery outcomes to senior leadership while driving the ongoing evolution of the ClusterWareAI platform.
  • Partner with Product Management, Principal Engineers, Architects, and cross-functional teams to translate business priorities into scalable technical solutions.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing software engineering team
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, customer impact, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience building enterprise software, distributed systems, or infrastructure platforms.
  • 3+ years of experience leading and developing software engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, Kubernetes, containers, Linux, REST APIs, and microservices.
  • Strong knowledge of modern software engineering practices, Agile development, CI/CD, testing, and DevOps.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, develop technical talent, and build high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more of the following:
  • Platform engineering or infrastructure software
  • Experience developing software on AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Kubernetes platform engineering

Compensation & Benefits
The base pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in Maynard, MA or Durham, NC is $165,000 - 195,000; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. The position is bonus-eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available. There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
