About the Role:

We’re seeking a licensed Construction Manager to serve as the Owner’s Representative on critical infrastructure projects across Oʻahu. This role supports meaningful work that strengthens Hawaiʻi’s infrastructure and communities.

You’ll oversee all phases of construction from planning through closeout, ensuring compliance with contracts, engineering standards, and project specifications. The role requires daily on-site presence and combines hands-on construction management with modern technology to deliver safe, high-quality projects on schedule and within budget. You’ll report to the Construction Manager Lead and collaborate closely with engineering and leadership teams.

What You’ll Do

Project & Contract Management

  • Strong leadership and project management oversite
  • Enforce contractor compliance with plans, specs, and contract requirements
  • Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, claims, progress payments, schedules, and budgets
  • Lead coordination meetings withtheclientbusinessowners, contractors, and project teams
  • Monitor project budgets and staffing needs
  • Demonstrate strong client communication and conflict resolution skills

Quality, Safety & Field Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with codes, industry standards, and OSHA regulations
  • Identifyand mitigate safety risks; stop work for major violations
  • Identifyand mitigate construction risks
  • Coordinate inspections, resolve non-conformances, and document field conditions

Leadership & Technology

  • Supervise engineers, inspectors, and construction staff
  • Manage multiple projects with clear stakeholder communication
  • Use construction management software, Microsoft Office, and emerging AI tools to improve outcomes

What You Bring

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 4+ years of construction management experience on civil or infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety standards, and OSHA regulations
  • Ability to interpret plans, specs, and contract documents
  • Mustpossessa valid driver’s license and be legally able to drive with daily worksite reporting with exposure to weather, noise, and hazards
  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; occasional evenings/weekends as needed
  • Physical demands: standing, walking, and climbing
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions with appropriate PPE
  • Eager to learn and integrate new technology, AI tools, and innovative solutions

Preferred:

  • Hawaiʻi PE license
  • DOT highway experience
  • CCM or RME certification
  • HDOT, HART, or other Hawaiʻi public agency experience
  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
