- Hiring Process: Candidate Interview: Interview with MedSol Clinical Team- No Unit Manager involvement - Radius: 60 MILES, DL must be submitted - Floating roles: Travelers are expected to float throughout the zone they are hired into. Each zone covers a 60 mile radius from the zone's city center which is where the 60 mile verbiage comes into play. The traveler is responsible for obtaining housing that makes this feasible as the requirement to float throughout the full 60 mile zone applies regardless of where the traveler obtains housing. - Week of orientation: Please ensure clinicians are in state for week of orientation even if first day modules are completed remotely NO HOME BASE FACILITY! Unit/Department: MS-Tele Float - What units are included in the float pool: Mutliple units ranging for General MS-Tele into various specialities from Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, & ED Obs - Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 based on acuity - Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?): BLS, ACLS, NIHSS - Common diagnoses/Types of patients "Population: Adults- Geriatrics Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Urology-post surgicals, General Surgery-post appy, Gynecology, Psych/Detox, ENT, General Medicine, stable long term placement patients, and more " - Experience or 'Must have' skills: "Must have 2 years of MS-Tele experience Prefer prior neuro experience " - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Heparin - Common titratable &/or set rate drips - Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Designated Charge on each unit; doesn't take a patient assignment unless necessary; more common for night shift charge to end up with a small pt assignment -Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes - RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): Yes - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): "7-7, Schedule is made out by leadership for 6 wks at a time, travelers are expected to be flexible and help to fill gaps in permanent scheduling. - All time off requests need to be submitted prior to starting assignment " - Weekend Requirements: 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6 week schedule - Holiday Requirements : May be asked to go into the Holiday Rotation - Is there a call or standby requirement?: Rare, for low census - How are units assigned? i.e. via text message, daily sheet assignments, set schedule?: "May be asked to float into any other acuity level; ICU (take low acuity holds with skillset), PCU/Stepdown, & MS-Tele - Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any Color - Unit/Department specific orientation: 1-2 days with a preceptor Region Float Policy: NO HOME BASE FACILITY - You can also be asked for float outside of your designated facility to sister facitlies including: Zone 3 (Based in Denver, CO): OrthoColorado Hospital 11650 W 2nd Pl Lakewood, CO Longmont United Hospital 1950 Mountain View Ave Longmont, CO St. Anthony Hospital 11600 W 2nd Pl Lakewood, CO St. Anthony North Hospital 14300 Orchard Pkwy Westminster, CO You will receive a float assignment to clarify where you are working for each schedule (varies by schedule).
