Job description

Position Summary:
The Automotive Detailer is responsible for the thorough cleaning, reconditioning, and cosmetic maintenance of vehicle interiors and exteriors to meet dealership and customer quality standards. This position plays a vital role in enhancing the overall appearance of vehicles for display, delivery, or customer pickup. The role operates in a fast-paced environment with exposure to both indoor and outdoor working conditions and reports directly to the Detail Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and detail vehicle interiors and exteriors using appropriate chemicals, tools, and equipment
  • Wash, wax, buff, and polish vehicle surfaces to maintain and enhance vehicle finish
  • Vacuum, shampoo, and deodorize vehicle interiors including carpets, seats, and headliners
  • Conduct visual inspections to ensure all vehicles meet quality and cleanliness standards
  • Safely operate detailing equipment and dealership/customer vehicles
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the detail shop and supplies
  • Assist with vehicle delivery preparations, lot management, or service support when needed

Perform other duties as assigned to support department or dealership operations

Qualifications & Experience

  • Prior experience in automotive detailing or a similar cleaning role is preferred
  • Knowledge of cleaning solutions, buffing machines, and detailing processes a plus
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Must pass pre-employment background check, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, and drug screening

Work Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Exposure to indoor/outdoor conditions, including weather elements and cleaning chemicals
  • Frequent standing, bending, stooping, and walking throughout shift
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive physical tasks
