Job DescriptionPosition Summary

Richmond Region Tourism is seeking a Community Relations Engagement Manager to drive revenue growth through sponsorship development, grants, and foundation fundraising. This role manages the I Am Tourism (IAT) Ambassador program and supports sponsorship, donor stewardship, and event execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead planning, execution, and evaluation of Community Relations programs, including I Am Tourism (IAT) and Community Engagement initiatives
  • Represent Richmond Region Tourism at community and industry events to support partnerships and visibility
  • Align programs with organizational goals, performance metrics, and revenue objectives
  • Develop and manage sponsorship initiatives for Community Relations programs and Foundation events
  • Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with corporate sponsors and community partners
  • Prepare sponsorship proposals and secure new and renewing sponsorship revenue
  • Manage sponsor fulfillment, recognition, reporting, and ongoing relationship management
  • Maintain sponsorship tracking and revenue reporting
  • Develop and manage grant activities, including research, proposal development, submission, reporting, and compliance
  • Support foundation fundraising efforts and donor stewardship activities
  • Maintain development records and revenue tracking systems
  • Oversee logistics and execution of Community Relations and Foundation events, including sponsorship activation and donor recognition
  • Manage IAT program coordination, including registration, CRM updates, and onsite execution
  • Ensure accurate documentation, communications, and post event reporting
  • Provide timely and professional communication to stakeholders, sponsors, partners, and community members
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree and at least 3 years of related experience
  • Previous DMO and or travel or tourism industry experience strongly preferred
  • Experience managing committee(s)
  • Experience in budget management
  • Experience working with community, business, industry and, at times, political leadership
  • Ability to multitask, remain organized and demonstrate a high level of initiative and energy both individually and as a team member within a fast-paced and performance-based environment
  • Ability to make decisions for the projects or areas of work for which the manager is responsible
