About the Company

A large industrial organization is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to provide dedicated onsite technology support for employees at a local facility. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day end-user issues while supporting an active technology migration.

Job Description

The Desktop Support Engineer will provide hands-on technical support for laptops, virtual desktop environments, printers, applications, and user access. This position requires someone who can follow established procedures while independently troubleshooting issues when standard steps do not resolve the problem.

The ideal candidate combines strong desktop support fundamentals with excellent customer service and is comfortable assisting users in a busy onsite environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Image and reimage Windows laptops using established deployment procedures.
  • Troubleshoot virtual desktop access and performance issues.
  • Provide frontline technical support for employees and onsite users.
  • Assist users with reconnecting to applications following system changes or migrations.
  • Troubleshoot application access through virtual desktop environments.
  • Configure local printers, printer queues, and network connectivity.
  • Support printer address changes and migration-related activities.
  • Assist with cloud-based print services as access and responsibilities expand.
  • Provide hypercare support during technology migrations and deployments.
  • Diagnose and resolve general desktop, hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Document support activities and escalate complex problems when appropriate.
  • Deliver responsive, professional customer service to users across the facility.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience imaging or reimaging Windows laptops.
  • Experience with Windows deployment and desktop support.
  • Experience troubleshooting virtual desktop environments.
