Summary: 


Looking for a well-rounded individual to join and help support the Killam Companies Information Technology Department.


Essential duties/responsibilities:

  • Provide support to users and serve as the first point of contact for support requests
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in a timely manner
  • Install, configure, and manage hardware and software components to ensure usability
  • Install, configure, and manage IP phones and video conferencing systems
  • Install and terminate Cat 5 / Cat 6 cabling
  • Upgrade system components and reinstall compatible operating systems and required software
  • Install and upgrade antivirus software to maintain security at the user level
  • Maintain system updates and patches across computers, iPhones, iPads, and other organizational devices
  • Monitor internal system reporting tools, report vulnerabilities, and partner with the IT team to resolve them
  • Perform tests and evaluations of new hardware and software
  • Maintain hardware and software inventory
  • Develop and maintain IT documentation and procedures
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across all departments
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in IT support

Location:

Killam Oil and Gas., Ltd is located Laredo, Texas; this is an in-office position based at our office in Laredo, all applicants will be required to relocate, if necessary.

Licenses/Certifications:

Must have a current valid driver's license and a excellent driving record. 

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to perform the following physical activity on a frequent to constant basis:

  • Sit for long periods of time.
  • Lift 10-20 lbs. of files, plans, office supplies, or similar items. 
  • Constantly uses fingers and hands when dialing/answering the telephone and operating a computer or other office machinery, such as a copy machine, scanner, and computer printer.
  • Ability to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information through verbal communications in person or detect objects in and around job site over the telephone.
  • Average, ordinary visual acuity is necessary to prepare or inspect documents; operate a computer or other office machinery.
  • Walk short distances on slippery, even, and/or uneven surfaces.
  • Stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, turn, or crawl.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.


Working Conditions:

  • Majority of work is performed in an office atmosphere located inside a building with no hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions. 
  • May require in frequent job site visits involve performing work in outdoor weather conditions with exposure to extreme cold, heat, and noise depending upon project site.
  • May travel locally during the workday.
