  Job Description: Our Client is seeking a motivated Desktop Support Technician with at least one (1) year of relevant IT experience to support Rockville, Maryland office location.

This IT position is responsible for maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals.

  All applicants must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical staff members.

This position will work under immediate supervision of the local branch management, regional IT staff as well as rely on established guidelines to perform functions of the job.

A more detailed account of what might be expected of the applicant is listed below. General Skill Requirements Ability to work alone, analyze problems, develop and deploy solutions. Strong problem solving abilities. Document, maintain, upgrade or replace hardware and software systems. Support and maintain user account information including rights, security and system groups. Assist in negotiations of vendor contracts and services. Archiving of data and disposal of old equipment. Track software licenses installed on computer equipment. Field user support. Specific Skill Requirements Candidate should be proficient in most the following hardware and software skills. Software Specifics: Active Directory Administration. Microsoft Server 2008 and 2012. Microsoft Hyper-V. Windows 7, 8. Symantec Backup Exec 2014. Windows Deployment Services or other disk imaging solution. Zendesk Helpdesk or other IT support ticket solution. TeamViewer or similar remote desktop connection solution. Must be familiar with the following engineering software packages: o Bentley Microstation and GeoPak. o Autodesk AutoCAD. Hardware Specifics: HP Proliant servers, desktops and laptops. Tablet and mobile devices. o Microsoft Surface Pro, iPhones, iPads, Android devices. Dell SonicWALL TZ and NSA firewalls. ShoreTel VoIP. Netgear PoE network switches. Canon copiers and HP plotters. APC UPS battery backups. Required Education and Experience: Associates Degree or equivalent experience.
