Job description

Desktop Support TechnicianOverview

We are seeking a customer-focused Desktop Support Technician to join a dynamic IT support team. This individual will provide a combination of onsite desktop support and remote technical assistance for employees across North America. The ideal candidate is energetic, service-oriented, and passionate about delivering an exceptional end-user experience while troubleshooting technical issues in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day technical support through multiple support channels, including:
    • Onsite support
    • Walk-up support center assistance
    • Remote support
    • Virtual chat support
  • Support both onsite and remote employees across a large user base.
  • Perform asset management activities, including inventory tracking, audits, deployments, and equipment disposal.
  • Assist with hardware refresh initiatives and replacement of aging equipment.
  • Prepare and deploy computer equipment for new hires and employee moves.
  • Monitor and remediate endpoint health and security issues.
  • Support video conferencing, teleconferencing, printers, and end-user hardware.
  • Install, configure, and remove hardware and software as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and provide timely updates on service requests.
  • Manage inventory and procurement requests while ensuring compliance with established processes.
  • Track, update, and resolve support tickets within defined service levels.
  • Monitor support queues and communication channels to ensure prompt response times.
  • Contribute to and maintain knowledge base documentation.
  • Serve as a trusted technology advisor by recommending best practices and effective solutions.
  • Resolve technical issues efficiently in both in-person and remote support environments.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and assist with training and adoption efforts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of desktop support experience in a corporate or enterprise environment.
  • Experience supporting both onsite and remote users.
  • Knowledge of operating system deployment, imaging, and endpoint management processes.
  • Experience with ticketing systems, user account administration, network connectivity, and basic networking concepts.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems and hardware architectures.
  • Experience supporting Mac environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with mobile device configuration and support.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Flexibility to accommodate varying work schedules.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
