Position Summary

The IT Systems Administrator provides technical support and systems administration for Harvey Vogel Manufacturing's information technology environment. This position serves as the primary point of contact for end-user support while assisting with Microsoft 365 administration, cybersecurity initiatives, network and server support, ERP systems, and infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and office personnel to ensure the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of business systems across a hybrid cloud and on-premises environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesEnd User Support (40%)
  • Respond to and resolve IT support requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and Microsoft 365 issues.
  • Support desktop computers, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems and business applications.
  • Deploy new workstations and migrate user data and settings.
  • Assist users with Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, and other Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Develop technical documentation, user guides, and training materials.
Microsoft 365 Administration (30%)
  • Create, modify, and deactivate user accounts.
  • Manage Microsoft 365 licenses, security groups, and permissions.
  • Support Exchange Online mailboxes and distribution groups.
  • Assist with SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams administration.
  • Support multi-factor authentication (MFA) and identity management processes.
  • Assist with administration of Microsoft Defender security tools.
  • Troubleshoot cloud services and user access issues.
Infrastructure Administration (15%)
  • Assist with administration of Windows Server and Active Directory environments.
  • Support VMware virtual infrastructure.
  • Participate in system maintenance, patching, and upgrades.
  • Support network infrastructure including switches, wireless access points, and firewalls.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot operational issues.
  • Participate in disaster recovery testing and backup verification activities.
Backup & Business Continuity
  • Monitor and verify successful completion of backup jobs.
  • Support data restoration and recovery activities.
  • Maintain backup procedures and documentation.
  • Assist with disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Support and maintain Veeam backup solutions.
Cybersecurity & Compliance (10%)
  • Assist with cybersecurity monitoring, awareness initiatives, and incident response activities.
  • Support implementation of security controls aligned with NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC requirements.
  • Assist with vulnerability remediation and system hardening efforts.
  • Support Microsoft Defender and other security technologies.
  • Maintain security documentation and records.
  • Help ensure compliance with company security and data protection policies.
ERP & Business Systems Support
  • Support ERP users with troubleshooting and system access requests.
  • Assist with user account administration and security permissions.
  • Create reports, queries, and data extracts.
  • Participate in ERP upgrades, testing, and implementation projects.
  • Troubleshoot business process and transactional issues.
Projects & Continuous Improvement (5%)
  • Participate in infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business system projects.
  • Assist with implementation of new technologies and process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate system and network documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiencies.
  • Support acquisition integration and technology standardization initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
QualificationsRequired
  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of IT support and/or systems administration experience.
  • Experience supporting Windows desktop operating systems.
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts including:
    • TCP/IP
    • DNS
    • DHCP
    • VPN
    • Wireless networking
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between company locations as needed.
Preferred
  • Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy administration.
  • Experience supporting VMware virtual environments.
  • Experience administering Veeam backup solutions.
  • Experience supporting ERP systems within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Defender and cybersecurity tools.
  • Familiarity with NIST 800-171 and CMMC compliance requirements.
  • Microsoft certifications are desirable but not required.
