Job description

Senior Desktop Engineer

This is a Senior Desktop Engineer role that will drive imaging for 400+ applications across PCs and Macs using MECM, SCCM, M365 and Intune in primarily a Windows environment. This person will also be leading the upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11, that is coming soon in 2025. This role will have a focus around Intune, so candidates must have a solid graph of Intune.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Be a thought leader in end user experience space; continuously improve user end user experiences through OS and application optimizations, automation, and streamlined processes
  • Design and implement unified endpoint management solutions for Windows, Macs, mobile devices and VDI solutions (Windows 365 Cloud PC and Azure Virtual Desktop)
  • Tanium, Intune, Autopilot, JAMF
  • Manage desktop policies and configurations through Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO), and Azure Active Directory, and M365 (Intune)
  • Apply modern configuration management practices to endpoint management
  • Create and manage the desktop operating system build process (MDT, Autopilot)
  • Package software applications for automated deployments using varies methods
  • Manage the M365 environment for managing and deploying software
  • Work with Security teams on compliance metrics and standards of endpoints
  • Proactively monitor and measure endpoint performance to detect trends and catch problems before users are impacted
  • Provide 3rd level endpoint support
  • Collect, report on endpoint metrics, and build dashboards to display information
  • Automate processes using Powershell
  • Perform PC operating system and software installation and performance tuning including, but not limited to, memory optimization, and software application settings (standard and custom)
  • Use ServiceNow software to create, edit, update and close work order tickets and customer profiles as needed
  • Maintain "SOE's" (Start Of Employment) and "EOE's" (End Of Employment) of user accounts/endpoints
Skills We're Seeking
  • 5+ years of experience with Desktop Engineering
  • Strong experience with desktop imaging
  • Must have experience with MECM and SCCM
  • Must have strong Intune experience
  • Must have M365 experience
  • Must have experience with Windows 10, Windows 11 experience even better
Nice To Haves
  • Azure experience, specifically Azure Alerts and Monitoring
  • Experience with Windows Autopilot, Microsoft Graph or Endpoint Analytics
  • Mobile device management and iPhone experience
  • Encryption (i.e. BitLocker) and VPN client experience
