Responsibilities:

JOB SUMMARY

The Virtual Infrastructure Engineer III researches, develops, tests, analyzes and documents virtual desktop infrastructure software.In addition, the Virtual Infrastructure Engineer III provides guidance, mentoring, training, and participates in a support on-call rotation facilitating off-hour work functions in support of incidents, upgrades, patches, and project task fulfillment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Researches, develops, tests, analyzes and documents Cisco UCS Infrastructure technologies (Intersight, Central, Manager, Director, Integrated Management Controller, IMC Supervisor, Fabric Interconnects, Chassis, IO Modules, B-Series Blades, C-Series Rack Servers, Firmware, Etc.), VMware technologies (vSphere ESXi, vCenter, vRealize Operations Manager,RVTools, Etc. ), support virtual infrastructure, related components, virtual desktop resources and availability.Coaches and trains less experienced engineers, identify coaching opportunities, and oversee work and productivity of junior engineers.Creates, develops & oversees projects as needed, assign resources to projects assigned to the Virtual Infrastructure Engineering, manages incident distribution, and coordinates major incidents response.Tracks and manages budget, performs discipline and rewards level I and level II employees under minimal supervision from management, manages development plans for staff, manages projects from start to finish, requisitions equipment and supplies, assists with staff scheduling. Documents & submits new content to the knowledgebase, maintains the team website, create process maps, develops framework & processes around problem management, develops training materials for staff.
  • Uses communication skills to listen to, identify & address customer needs while building a relationship and rapport with customers. Builds positive working relationships with team members, managers & all departments.Prioritizes and responds promptly based on severity levels to needs of the customer. Proactively or timely recognizes opportunities for service recovery and acts to resolve issues.
  • Consistently lives out the commitment to the HonorHealth tenets of service excellence as illustrated in daily interactions with staff, faculty, physicians, patients, their families and others outside of HonorHealth: Customer Centered, Service Focused, Quality Driven, Resource Wise, Growth OrientedMaintains a professional appearance for both themselves and their work environment.
  • Completes IT Governance & IT project job assignments to ensure achievement of established project milestones.

EDUCATION
  • Bachelors or 4 years' work related experience Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or a related discipline Required
  • Bachelors Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or a related discipline Preferred

EXPERIENCE
  • 6 years, Cisco UCS Infrastructure & VMWare. Must be functionally experienced in daily operations, planning, design, configuration and implementation. Required
  • 8 years, experience or knowledge in Networking, Server Management (Windows & UNIX) and Storage management. Must be functionally experienced in daily operations, planning, design, configuration and implementation. Must demonstrate advanced working knowledge of Windows Server and Desktop operating systems. Preferred

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • VMware Data Center Virtualization Required
  • Cisco Unified Computing System Preferred
