Job description

Job Title: Deskside Support Technician
Job Location: Onsite- Monroe - LA USA.
Please note, this role is not able to offer visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future
We are seeking a customer-focused and technically proficient Deskside Support Technician to provide comprehensive end-user support in a fast-paced enterprise environment. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for technical assistance, delivering exceptional support through walk-up service centers, phone, remote tools, chat, and email. This role combines end-user computing support, logistics coordination, asset management, audio-video conferencing support, and basic network troubleshooting to ensure a seamless technology experience for employees.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The base salary for this position is between $50,000 to $57,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
In this role, you will
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for end users requiring technical assistance through walk-up support centers, phone, chat, email, and remote support tools.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, operating system, peripheral, and application-related issues to minimize business disruption.
  • Provide hands-on deskside support for Windows and Mac devices, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Manage IT asset lifecycle activities including device deployment, desk setup, equipment collection, asset tracking, and inventory updates using internal asset management tools.
  • Coordinate logistics operations including packing, shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution of IT equipment and accessories.
  • Maintain IT inventory accuracy through regular audits of storage areas, helpdesk rooms, spare equipment, and technology vending machine stock levels.
  • Deliver Level 1 Audio-Visual (AV) support by troubleshooting conference room technologies, video conferencing systems, presentation equipment, and meeting room peripherals.
  • Support corporate events and collaboration spaces by ensuring AV equipment readiness, conducting room inspections, and providing technical assistance during meetings and events.
  • Provide printer, Smart Locker, and end-user device support, ensuring timely resolution of operational issues and maintaining service availability.
  • Perform end-user network troubleshooting for wired, wireless, VPN, and connectivity-related issues, collaborating with higher-level support teams to resolve complex incidents and ensure seamless user experience.

What you'll need to succeed (required skills)
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Deskside Support, IT Support, or Help Desk environments.
  • Strong experience supporting Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Experience with asset management, inventory control, and logistics operations.
  • Hands-on experience supporting audio-video conferencing technologies.
  • Knowledge of printer troubleshooting and peripheral device support.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and end-user connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to interact professionally with users at all organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in enterprise or large-scale corporate environments.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and service management best practices.
  • Experience supporting collaboration platforms and meeting room technologies.
  • Knowledge of endpoint management and device deployment processes.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, Microsoft Endpoint Administrator, or equivalent.
