DIVISION:Academic

DEPARTMENT:Dolan School of Business

BASIC FUNCTION:

Primary point of contact for Dolan School of Business signature events and communications to support Dolan strategic initiatives. Oversees the planning, execution, and marketing of Dolan signature events. Supports promotion of the Dolan School of Business through written communications, website management, social media, and external relations.

UNUSUAL WORK CONDITIONS:

Attend evening/weekend functions as required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL NEEDED:

Proficiency in various computer systems including MS Office, social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.), Canva, Constant Contact, and website management preferred. Events management experience managing multilevel projects simultaneously. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, writing and communication skills are required.

EDUCATION:

A Bachelor's Degree is required or equivalent related experience.

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of five years of experience in program coordination, marketing, and/or customer service is required.

REPORTS TO: Vice Dean, Dolan School of Business

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for Dolan signature events

  • Manages high-profile signature events including the Fairfield Dolan Dean's Executive Forum speaker series, Dolan Advisor Summit, Dolan Awards Ceremony, graduate events, partner events, and others.

  • Coordinates all event logistics including scheduling, catering, contracts, A/V media needs, space reservation, and serve as the onsite support at each event.

  • Coordinates events communications including script and agenda writing, targeted invitations, as well as promotions utilizing internal Fairfield platforms and social media.

Responsible for Dolan communications and marketing support

  • Act as a department liaison with University Marketing on projects. Contribute to marketing campaigns, oversee sponsorships, and assist with external relations.

  • Identify and submit marketing tickets for banners, foam boards, branded goods, and related promotional materials.

  • Post regular content on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram and contribute to Fairfield Dolan social media strategy.

  • Maintain updates on the Dolan webpages in coordination with University Marketing.

Responsible for Dolan publications

  • Researches, writes, and designs monthly E-Newsletter: The Dolan Connection

  • Content creation in Constant Contact for the Dolan Weekly E-blast and Dolan Grad Monthly E-Blast.

  • In partnership with University Marketing assist with the semi-annual newsletters and annual Dolan Report.

  • Maintains and updates mailings lists for event invitations, related publications, and external communications.

Responsible for events and marketing support for Fairfield StartUp

  • Lead event planner for Fairfield StartUp Entrepreneurship Program and annual competition Fairfield StartUp Showcase.

  • Event and marketing contact for Fairfield StartUp program fall workshops, Angel Investor Forum meetings, mentor relations, student awards and related projects.

  • For these projects, collaborates with the Director of the Fairfield StartUp Program and supervises the Senior Program Coordinator for the Dolan Centers.

Provide program assistance for the Dolan Dean's Suite

  • Serve as part of the Dean's office team and helps with office duties as needed

  • Supervises two graduate assistants in the areas of entrepreneurship and marketing/events.

Performs other related duties as requested
