Job description

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain production tools for the design team that are stable, save real time, and work well with our downstream design automation systems.
  • Collaborate with highly interdisciplinary teams to design and implement software automation that drives efficiency and throughput on the architecture and business development teams.
  • Build the exchange layer between our internal model and external MEP consultants so they don't bottleneck the process or lock us into their stack.
  • Build auto-takeoff from BIM to produce high-confidence estimates during design.
  • Build tooling that helps architects iterate through value-engineering options quickly.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to build and support reliable, effective tools.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience in design/CAD/BIM automation, ideally in Type III or Type V / residential construction.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build consensus around a technical vision.
  • Strong general coding experience, ideally in Python and/or TypeScript.
  • Experience with automated testing and releases/deployments.
  • Used Revit in a professional setting and have built integrations with Revit yourself (such as Revit plugins, Dynamo, pyRevit, or APS).
  • Built API integrations with other systems (any protocol, just that you've interfaced with real-world external systems).
  • Foundational knowledge of parametric design.
  • Experience using coding agents; builds prototypes, collaborates, and gets to a solution rapidly. A 0-to-1 builder.
