Summary/Objective:

The individual must be forward thinking, has to have a positive attitude and can set expectations for their team members. This role is responsible for managing the RV Chassis Frame product associated to a specific set of external OEM customers. Working with and leading a team of CAD Technicians that create and update the chassis frame drawings and components. The candidate must be driven, hardworking and demonstrates a strong sense of urgency in managing and completing projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  1. Lead, mentor and grow a team of CAD Technicians
  2. Delegate work to CAD techs based on priorities
  3. Ensure all drawings are accurately created and maintained to customer specifications while complying with Lippert RV Best Practices and organizational standards.
  4. Manage and implement internal/external cost savings and/or standardization initiatives
  5. Assist in establishing and/or upgrading internal drafting and workflow standards and practices
  6. Consistently use metrics to improve or maintain efficiency and quality of work
  7. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and intercompany personnel
  8. Aid in the training of new hires and continued support of team members software and product questions

Supervisory Responsibility:

This role will have 3-6 CAD Technicians reporting to it.

Physical Demands

  1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly talk and listen. This position is not very active when it comes to movement and requires a lot typing and sitting in a chair.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  1.  This is a full-time salary position and the expected work hours are 45-50 hours per week. Hours may vary due to work load.

Travel:

Travel will be minimal and would be primarily local during the business day.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  1. Degree in engineering related field recommended
  2. 5-7 years solid modeling complex assemblies.
