Design Sales Manager information

What is a design sales manager?

Design Sales Managers are professionals who oversee the sales process for design-related products or services, such as interior design, graphic design, or architectural solutions. They are responsible for managing client relationships, developing sales strategies, and leading a team of sales representatives to meet or exceed revenue targets. Design Sales Managers often collaborate closely with design teams to ensure that client needs are accurately translated into deliverable solutions. Their role combines expertise in both sales techniques and design industry trends, making them key players in driving business growth within design-focused companies.

How does a design sales manager typically collaborate with design and sales teams to drive successful project outcomes?

A Design Sales Manager acts as a crucial bridge between the creative design team and the sales force. They work closely with designers to understand project capabilities and timelines, while simultaneously liaising with sales professionals to align client expectations and deliverables. This role often involves facilitating regular meetings, ensuring clear communication, and addressing challenges that arise during the project lifecycle. By fostering collaboration, the Design Sales Manager helps ensure that projects are both visually compelling and commercially viable, leading to satisfied clients and successful outcomes.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a design sales manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Design Sales Manager, you need a strong background in sales, design principles, and project management, often supported by a degree in design, business, or a related field. Familiarity with CRM software, design visualization tools, and sales analytics systems is typically required. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills help build client relationships and guide sales teams effectively. These skills ensure successful project delivery, client satisfaction, and revenue growth in a competitive market.

In-Home Bath Design & Sales ConsultantHendersonville Bath – Hendersonville, TN
Earn $100,000–$200,000+ helping homeowners create bathrooms they love.

Hendersonville Bath is a locally owned bathroom remodeling company serving Hendersonville, Nashville and surrounding Middle Tennessee communities.
We're growing and looking for an energetic, personable and motivated In-Home Bath Design & Sales Consultant to join our team.
This is NOT a cold-calling position.
We generate the leads and schedule appointments with homeowners who are interested in improving their bathrooms. Your job is to meet with them in their home, understand what they want, help design the right solution, show them samples and options, build their project, present pricing and financing, and earn their business.
If you love working with people, enjoy design and home improvement, and aren't afraid to ask for the sale, this could be an incredible opportunity.
What You'll Do
You'll meet with homeowners throughout Middle Tennessee who are interested in projects such as:
  • Tub-to-shower conversions
  • Walk-in showers
  • One-day bathroom remodels
  • Full bathroom renovations
  • Acrylic wall systems

  • Collect deposits when appropriate
  • Enter complete project information into our system
  • Follow up with customers who don't purchase during the first appointment
  • Coordinate a clean handoff to our production team
What We Provide
We want our sales consultants spending their time meeting homeowners and selling, not sitting around trying to generate leads.
We provide:

  • Professional sales presentation
  • Pricing system
  • Financing options
  • CRM and sales technology

  • Excited about home improvement and design
  • Comfortable using technology
  • Able to work some evening appointments when homeowners are available
  • Willing to be held accountable to sales goals and KPIs
Experience We're Interested In
Bathroom remodeling experience is great, but it isn't required for the right person.
We would especially like to talk with candidates who have experience in:
  • Bathroom remodeling sales
  • Kitchen remodeling
  • Home improvement sales
  • Windows and doors
  • Roofing
  • HVAC replacement sales
  • Flooring

We can teach our process.
We're looking for someone who already has the drive, personality, integrity and desire to win.

Compensation
Expected earnings: $100,000–$200,000+

Compensation includes:
  • Paid training period
  • Uncapped commissions
  • Performance bonuses
  • Additional incentives
  • Company-generated sales opportunities
There is no ceiling for someone who can consistently deliver an exceptional customer experience and close business.
What Winning Looks Like Here
Our best salesperson will:
  • Show up prepared
  • Be on time
  • Build genuine relationships
  • Listen more than they talk
  • Understand what the homeowner really wants
  • Design a solution the homeowner gets excited about
