Job description


Position Summary
Responsible for the preconstruction process of design-build and design-assist projects. Manages project design and detailing schedule, monitors design development and detailing progress, and manages the financial aspects of the design contract to deliver high-quality projects within the prescribed time frames and costs.
Position Details
  • Provides assistance to Design Project Managers and develops basic project management skills within business standards and procedures, such as documentation, budget management, contract review, etc.
  • Participates in or leads the design and coordination of QA/QC process to deliver high-quality projects within the prescribed time frames.
  • Interfaces with and provides clear and consistent documentation for sales, estimating, VDC, operations and field teams.
  • Attends and documents project coordination and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings.
  • Assists with the input and output of accurate project data within various corporate and project tracking systems.
  • Assists in developing design project schedules.
  • Assists with the development of design models, contract plans, specifications, and design calculations.
  • Performs on-site field surveys to collect and deliver design and engineering data.
  • Assists in the creation of RFIs and submittals for the detailing process.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Science, or equivalent technical training and related experience
  • 0-3 years of design, construction and/or related experience
  • Good organization and time management skills
  • Good analytical and technical writing skills
  • Good verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including MS Office and ability to learn other relevant software systems, such as Autodesk Products and Revit
