Job description

Design Engineer (Water/Wastewater)

Location: Mississauga

Salary$120,000-$150,000 (based on experience)

About the Opportunity:

We have partnered with an established Engineering Consulting Firm who is looking to add a Design Engineer to their growing team. This is a full-time hybrid opportunity, and will allow the ideal candidate to demonstrate their experience designing linear water/wastewater infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of upcoming projects, planning studies and designs.
  • Design conveyance systems for municipal projects including force mains, storm sewers, and sanitary sewers.
  • Ensure current projects remain on budget and on track.
  • Work in conjunction with municipal, utilities, and approval agencies to ensure consistent communication wit all parties.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, and other departments as required.
  • Assist field staff on construction projects.
  • Assist with start-up, testing, and commissioning

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience related to the design and construction administration of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • A current and valid Professional Engineer certification (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
  • Experience with trenchless technologies, and pipeline rehabilitation.
  • Experience with Ontario Environmental standards and guidelines.
  • Planning and permitting processes experience.
  • Project management experience with municipal water and sewer projects is an asset.
  • Valid license, ability to travel and visit projects sites within Ontario.
Technical Skills:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Civil 3D software
