Job description

50% Project Delivery & Management

Serves as project manager on capital projects, owning budget, schedule, scope, and stakeholder communication from concept through commissioning and closeout. Develops and manages capital estimates, project budgets, and schedules. Maintains budget and schedule accountability through project execution and closeout. Selects, contracts, and manages external contractors and vendors. Leads project commissioning, coordinates system startup with operations staff, and conducts formal project closeout.

20% Field Presence & Constructability

Travels to active quarry sites across to assess conditions, verify designs, and support construction execution. Partners directly with plant staff and operations leadership to understand site needs, validate scope, and ensure designs are operationally sound before construction begins. Applies constructability judgment throughout design, anticipating installation sequences, maintenance access requirements, and field execution constraints.

20% Plant Design & Equipment Integration

Leads plant design and integration of processing equipment. Partners with other engineering disciplines to coordinate multi-discipline project deliverables. Evaluates and selects capital equipment; manages vendor submittals, technical review, and OEM coordination through installation and commissioning.

10% Engineering, Documentation, & CAD

Produces and reviews engineering drawings using AutoCAD; provides design direction to designers and reviews deliverables for accuracy and constructability. Maintains project documentation, specifications, and records in accordance with Luck Stone document control standards.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

Education:  Bachelor's Degree

Preferred: Mechanical or Civil Engineering Degree

Plus: - PE (Professional Engineer Licensed)

         - Project Management        

Work Experience: 3-5+ years Engineering Experience, Civil, Mechanical, or closely related engineering discipline 

Technical Competencies:

  • AutoCAD and Project Scheduling software
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems
  • Working knowledge of fabrication and construction
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering capital projects on time and on budget with full accountability for scope, cost, and schedule
