Job description

Job Summary: As a Detailer / Checker, you will be responsible for creating detailed part drawings, erection drawings, shipping lists and plans for pre-engineered metal buildings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards. With a focus on delivering exceptional work, you will play a critical role in our organization and contribute to the success of our projects.

Positions are available onsite in either of our two offices, Vinemont (Cullman, AL) and Portland, TN, NO REMOTE. Training is available for the right candidates interested in starting an exciting career in the pre-engineered steel metal building industry and wanting advancement opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop detailed drawings and plans for pre-engineered metal buildings using MBS, AutoCAD, Tekla and other drafting tools
  • Collaborate with builder service reps, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness of plans
  • Check and verify design calculations, specifications, and other technical documents
  • Ensure all work complies with industry standards, codes, and regulations
  • Communicate with builder service reps, design engineers, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure timely completion of projects
  • Participate in the review and approval process for projects, making recommendations for improvements as needed
Qualifications & Skills
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Tekla, Revit or other drafting software
  • Strong understanding of building codes, industry standards, and safety regulations
  • Experience with MBS software an advantage
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Previous experience in the construction or steel fabrication industry
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • 2-5 years of experience in steel detailing, or related experience in the construction or engineering industries
  • Strong knowledge of steel fabrication, welding, and construction methods
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
