Job description

STV is hiring a Design-Build Project Manager to lead large scale complex Design-Build projects across the New York City Metro.

Your New Role

STV is hiring a Design Build Project Manager in New York City (Empire State Building) within our Buildings group. In this senior project leadership role, you will lead large-scale, complex Design-Build projects from pursuit through construction-partnering with contractors, agencies, and executive stakeholders to deliver resilient, high-impact infrastructure.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead end-to-end Design-Build project delivery, from pursuit and preliminary design through construction completion

  • Provide strategic project leadership across integrated, multidisciplinary teams (architecture, structural, MEP)

  • Own commercial performance, including budget, schedule, scope, risk, and quality outcomes

  • Serve as primary client executive interface, engaging with agency leadership, municipalities, and key stakeholders

  • Partner closely with contractors and joint venture teams to drive aligned project execution

  • Lead pursuit strategy, capture planning, and proposal development, contributing to winning major DB contracts

  • Oversee construction-phase delivery, including schedule oversight, change strategy, and QA/QC compliance

  • Champion safety, innovation, and digital delivery practices across projects

  • Mentor and develop high-performing teams of 70+, building the next generation of design build leaders.

What You'll Need to Thrive

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture (Master's preferred)

  • Active New York PE or RA license

  • 20+ years of experience, including recent project leadership from design through construction delivery.

  • Proven success leading Design-Build projects with $20M+ in fee revenue as the Projects Leader coordinating large teams of 70+ staff

  • Demonstrated expertise in project leadership, including budget, schedule, risk, and client management.

  • Experience working in contractor-led, joint venture, or integrated Design-Build environments

Nice-to-Haves:

  • DBIA (Design-Build Institute of America) certification

  • Experience with alternative delivery methods (Progressive DB, CM/GC, P3)

  • Track record of winning and delivering major Design-Build pursuits

  • Strong understanding of commercial management, contract risk, and procurement strategies

  • Familiarity with NY/NJ agency clients (NYSDOT, MTA, Port Authority, NJDOT, Amtrak)

  • Experience leveraging digital delivery, BIM, and advanced design technologies

  • Executive-level communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
