Job description

Join our team as a Design Assistant in our kitchen cabinet showroom!


Are you passionate about kitchen design and love turning creative ideas into reality? We are looking for a Design Assistant to support our talented kitchen designers in our busy retail showroom located in Springfield, IL.


In this key role, you will work closely with our designers to bring their visions to life for our customers. Your daily responsibilities will include:


  • Using 2020 Design software to create accurate floor plans, elevations, and stunning 3D rendering based on the designer's sketches
  • Preparing professional price quotations for customers
  • Submitting quotes to the factory for custom items not found in the product specification book
  • Importing 2020 design files, cleaning up final orders for submittal to the factory using our proprietary ordering software
  • Maintain a current knowledge of trends and products in the cabinet industry


This is a perfect opportunity for someone who thrives on details, enjoys working with design software, and wants to play an important behind-the-scenes role in helping customers create their dream kitchens.


What we are looking for:


  • Detail-oriented and highly focused with excellent organizational skills
  • Computer savvy - proficient with design software (2020 Design experience is a big plus)
  • Experienced in kitchen design
  • Strong math skills and the ability to read a tape measure accurately
  • Construction background is highly preferred
  • A positive, team-player attitude with a passion for delivering great customer experiences


Education/Experience:


Required:

  • At least one year of related experience

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in interior design or related field
  • Coursework in computer-aided design (CAD)
  • 2020 Design software experience
  • Interior design certification


Work schedule:

Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Weekends by appointment.
