To thrive as a Design Assistant, you need a solid understanding of design principles, proficiency in graphic or interior design, and often a relevant degree or coursework. Familiarity with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, CAD programs, or project management tools is typically required. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication help set outstanding candidates apart. These skills ensure that projects are executed smoothly, deadlines are met, and the creative vision is accurately supported.

As a Design Assistant, your daily responsibilities often include supporting senior designers with research, preparing presentation materials, sourcing samples, scheduling meetings, and maintaining project documentation. Collaboration is key in this role, as you'll frequently work with other team members to ensure that project objectives are met efficiently and creatively.

What are Design Assist services?

Design Assist services refer to the collaboration between design professionals—like architects or engineers—and contractors during the early phases of a construction project. The goal is to integrate the contractor's expertise with the design process to improve constructability, reduce costs, and address potential issues before construction begins. This approach helps streamline the project, minimize changes during later phases, and often leads to a more efficient and successful build. Design Assist is especially valuable for complex projects where early input from all stakeholders can prevent costly delays or redesigns.

What is the difference between Design Assist vs Design Coordinator?

Role Overview

Jaque Bethke Design is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Design Assistant to support the execution, coordination, and operational flow of design projects across all phases.
