Job description

Experienced Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer

Company:

The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer to become part of the Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) Aeronautical systems Integration & Test (ASIT) team in Berkeley, MO.

You will enable the ASIT organization to continue to advance its technologies in support of our Air Dominance, Phantom Works & Weapons programs. The team is responsible for developing integration test assets, real-time software test environments, subsystem/system testing, and evaluating system performance in simulation lab environment. Simulation and modeling are utilized to assist in requirements development, software and hardware development, and equipment verification and validation.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for releasing drawings in TeamCenter

  • Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design

  • Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups

  • Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications

  • Contributes to supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals

  • Supports system components' designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation

  • Trains others

  • Works under general direction

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)

  • 5 or more years of experience with engineering and design software (i.e. CAD/3D packages (UG/NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, CREO, etc.)

  • 5 or more years of experience in mechanical engineering design and analysis

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

  • Experience with Mechanical Systems Design including electro-mechanical and flight control systems
